I suspect my Friday off next week will be spending Nectar points....

Today, for a change... builders. It might be complete enough to eat in the new bit for Christmas, but as that day I have to drive to make sure mum gets fed and gets to see Dad, in some ways who cares! :(

Bloody hell, Lucy. I can't believe how long this is going on! I don't know how you've been so patient. I would have seriously kicked off by now.

I am well hacked off, but there is nothing to be gained by losing it and a lot to be lost. I still want a quality finish. I know the reasons for most of the delays, I don’t like them but I understand. It won’t be a company I will be recommending... and I have known the owner over 25 years!

Hmm. Maybe that's the problem. Because you know the owner, you're the one who is deemed "fuckable" with the timings and commitment. Taking advantage of your friendship by saying "it's ok, I know he won't make too much fuss cos we're friends, he'll understand if we keep putting other jobs in the way".

I would have tried to have found a different company to take over. Even if it cost a bit more. I'm stubborn like that. :D

the cakes were the first on my list. You don't get a figure like mine without training:D

Ha! What have you chosen?

We only chose the NY cheesecake, and I regret not ordering the carrot cake too lol.

But we did chose two cheeseboards

Other company’s quotes were 25% and 33% more, involved more disruption to the garden and were unknown , but also seemed to have lots of jobs on. The main delays have been design but also the skilled supervisor he had at the tender stage has been off a lot, and he himself can only come on certain days so it gets delayed a lot. I might get a sink plumbed in today!

Hmm, I would have still been tempted for the principle of being fucked about. (and it's this kind of thinking that drives my financial advisor insane sometimes :D)

Morning all, sounds busy in her. I hope your all well.

Her? Who? Not me! :p

I'm well, thanks. Waiting for everyone to get up so we can have late breakfast/early brunch. Tired of being Mr Hop-along yet?

Morning all, just a few days till Christmas! I had to shell out over £1k on essential works for my house this month, broke for Christmas. :(

Ouch! I hope it's all finished at least!

Simple Christmas's can be great. Less faff on stuff that doesn't really matter, and even gift-giving is about the thought, not the cost.

A few days? I'm still thinking in terms of weeks - I still have a full one, don't be cutting it down to "days"
