I'm killing myself here. First Rachael Ray, then the Pioneer Woman. I'm Soooo hungry.

Cooking shows are like food porn.

I still miss Alton Brown's "Good Eats" though. I quite liked that show.

i love alton's good eats

does anyone know why his looks changed so much? was he ill?

if you watch any of his re runs you can see the difference

Reruns periodically pop up on the COOKING channel, if available in your part of TV land channels.

Great news. Very fun, informative show.

I still use his PopOver recipe, which I saw on Good Eats.

I catch the reruns every now and then. They're fun, but it's not the same as new ones.

I use Betty Crocker's popover recipe. It's always served me well. Julia Child has one in my "baking bible" that I've tried, but it's hard to beat a classic.

He lost 50# in 9 months in '09. He lost a few more pounds in '15 when he divorced.

I'm trying to stay awake. Last night I fell asleep between 9pm and midnight and couldn't get back to sleep until 3:30am or so. The alarm came mighty early at 6:30am. I can't do that again.

What? No! Really? Oh very cool. I didn't care for his other shows - Cutthroat Kitchen and the Iron Chef thing.

I'm kinda stoked. :D
I'm with you. Good Eats was interesting, and I'm not even a foodie. The compition shows he hosts are annoying.

I've used he Steak technique with a cast iron skillet on the fire and then the oven a bunch of time.

I'm tired of the competition shows in general.

I like Chopped, but partially because I like to bitch about the Ridiculous Basket Items.

I used to watch Chopped, but like all competition shows it seems to have ran its course with me. I give the chefs points on creativity in using some of the crap that they would put in the baskets though. :D
