How about Florida?

Update from Casa de Trekka: No power, winds really picking up and kicking things around, steady stream of tornado warnings going on and off, and Irma is so big it has sucked the water out of Tampa Bay

But all are safe and house is holding up well thus far.

Good thoughts, good vibes, and prayers for my entire state; shit's about to get real here...

Sending good vibes to you and all in Flo-Rida
Just wind and rain here so far.

Still got power so I've been taking advantage to get some of my renovations done. Football is on but all the local channels are talking about the hurricane. We need 150 news shows all saying the same things about the same damn storm. The same yesterday with college football. Had to find alternate channels that were broadcasting the games.

The only game I got is the Jets vs the Bills.

Just spoke with Starry. She is doing well & about to go back to work. She spent the storm in a fortified house so she was safe. She was raving against the clowns cruising the flooded streets in their smartcars & mini coopers making me laugh.

Thanks for the updates and I'm glad you're all safe. Waiting for more Floridians to check in. Still praying...

Ok I'm off duty for now. We unevac'd some special needs people. Then I came home to help get the yard and tree crap cleaned and to the curb. We're all hustling incase hurricane Jose pops in for a visit. I was lucky to miss out on the call for a wandering cow. Yes a cow here at the beach. LMAO the officer took a photo to prove it was real but he could not catch it. My CERT guys wanted a chance at BBQ for dinner tonight but they couldn't find it. I swear you can't write this up and sell it in Hollywood.

God I'm too old for this. Has everyone checked in???

Not yet. Still power outages.

It'll probably take a week to get everybody up & running again. Clean up will take a lot longer. Lots of huge trees toppled over.

Clean up is going faster here with the city teams but still no power. The pole dancers (linesmen) is happening street by street. I've been checking on seniors we evac'd to make sure they are still ok. Some still have no power, no ice, little food. They all need someone to talk to for unstressing and help with yard clean up or whatever.

Thanks for the update, and everything you're doing to help!

I've been checking in on friends and family throughout the state, and everyone seems to be doing okay aside from some reporting of no power, no running water, some flooding, and/or some uprooted trees or downed tree limbs. I hope everyone recovers soon though. Been trying to do my part to help out those I can.

I hope all the other FL members on here are okay, too. Not too many checking in it seems.

I'm just lucky. We have generators going, ways to charge the cell phones, cell towers up and I've got unlimited coverage everywhere. It can be quiet in my life then all hell breaks loose. I got PT tomorrow and they are so gonna beat my ass bad.

Checking in...

From South Florida and new to this thread.

Just hoping everyone has made it through and sending good positive thoughts to everyone throughout the state.

Stay safe!

Power back at 7 pm tonight. Total 72 hours.
I just don't know how those linesmen do these hours in the heat.
Thank God they do it!!!

I'm here and kickin! Minor damage at the house -- a few shingles ripped off, fence went down, tree limbs, etc -- but all things considered we did well. Everyone that I know is safe and kept their roof.

That was one tornado filled storm though. That NE side of the eye wall is *no joke*

I still have no power, and it's so hot. It's so so so so so so so hot.

Other than that, I'm good. Checkin in from Mom's House, where there's power, and cookies. :D

Glad to hear everyone else seems to have come through the storm OK...

You get used to it.

I'm still getting spotty cell service so when you text it may take some time for me to get back to you.

I've been blessed with the cell stuff. Never lost coverage just the charging issues. Part was juggling 2 old batteries, new battery not delivered and the solar portable charger ran twice then no more. So I've been carrying my plug in charger around with me on duty to plug in where I could.

We've still got people here too either no power. Duke Energy really messed up organization on this badly.

I got power last night. Water running but still under boil alert. Lost some of the fence and a metal shed. But nothing major. And oh of course the temps had to be in the 90s. Thank goodness for a pool that was clean enough to get in and cool off.

Clean up mode today as much as I can. Not easy to recover and clean and keep one's frustration level in check. I think I need an iced coffee - lol...... does McDonald's deliver yet?

Hope everyone is keeping safe and all will be back to normal soon.
