How about Florida?

Is everyone preparing?... My husband and I are almost done preparing.

Inside is done. I'm told to work from home Friday and will finish picking up yard art and plants then.

Okay. My husband is taking the day off tomorrow. Early tomorrow morning we are going to get the other stuff

I just read Atlanta Motor speedway is opening up for people to go to camp to get away from the storm. all most all hotels in or near Ocala are booked. So If your leaving I'd go now so it's easier to get where your going.. 95 north tonight was busy.

All tolls have been suspended so that opens up the turnpike. Gas is a problem. Stations that are empty now should be filled overnight. Trucking restrictions have been lifted.

I'm back on duty tomorrow at 9 am. PT is canceled for me until next Thursday since there is a gas issue. Just the bug out bag to pull together with the everyday stuff that's laid out on using from. So I'll be on duty for as long as they need me.

Well good luck and be safe!!

There is not a drop of gas down here & not a tanker in sight. Folks are camping out at the gas stations.

Hey Starry, you may have to arrange a gas drop for me! :D

I read this morning that if you fill plastic trash bags 1/3 full of water they can be used like sandbags.

Also, empty your dishwasher if you have one and put precious things in there. It's waterproof and bolted to the wall. Stuff should survive OK in there.

Thinking of all of you.

Yep gas is a problem and the roads are awful. I had friends leave yesterday afternoon and it took them ten hours to get from west palm to Gainesville. They had to wait for hours at gas stations on the pike. You'll run out of gas waiting for gas! They just made it to Atlanta and they've been driving 16 hours nonstop. No hotels available.

We are not in an evac zone and house is as hurricane proofed as it can get, plus we have supplies, but I'm morherfucking terrified of this bitch.

Here's hoping the eye stays east of everyone. And we keep our roofs. Water and trail mix don't do any good when your house has been leveled.

I was here for Andrew... *shudder*

I hope everyone makes it through this as best they can. Worst storm I've ever seen.

Ya... I'm hoping she stays east but we wont know more till later today or Friday.

Andrew took my hurricane cherry. I was in the Grove at the time.

I've been trying to push this bitch east but she's being stubborn!

Don't rely so much on gas buddy. A lot of that info is wrong.

Oh the Irony, prisoners all locked down in safe concrete cells and the god fearing law abiding citizens have got to pray to keep their homes as well as dodge flying debris and pissed off alligators and snakes.

Hoping it stays east for you in Florida

Don't forget the Sharknados.

Well I'm finally home and off duty for now. We started a mandatory A level evacuation here. I've heard every reason in the world that these people don't want to evac even to a shelter and I was dealing with the special needs people. Seniors who can't walk without a walker, are on oxygen, etc... and they are refusing to even take a ride to the shelter on the bus tomorrow at noon.

PD is going around door to door and if they refuse to leave they will have to fill out a form saying they refused to go.
