ACA/Obamacare - Highest Approval Rating

Those most hurt by repeal would be those who voted Tromp. Do they deserve it?

Not sure what you mean by "deserve." It's not like he didn't explicitly campaign on doing away with the ACA, though he also made several promises along the way (no Medicaid cuts, everyone will be covered, lower deductibles and premiums) that he's been happy to abandon. Of course, that he would break those promises was always obvious to anyone with a modicum of common sense.

Basically, if dumbasses want to keep voting for con artists like Trump on the basis of culture war shit, then they have to live with the consequences of those choices. That doesn't mean I won't work to reverse them, even if these people think I'm their enemy because I think gay people should get to keep their jobs.

the phrase cutting off your nose to spite your face springs to mind for some reason.

seriously, the lower middle class and the working class are far more numerous than the upper middle and rich. keep shitting on them and making it clear that you hate them. that sure has worked out great for everyone so far.

I heard a pretty damned good analogy the other day:
Trump supporters would gladly allow Trump to burn down their house if there was a chance that the librul next door would choke on the smoke.

What does not wanting to pay for your HC have to do with gay people getting to keep their jobs??

Wanting everyone to pay for their own goods and services = shitting on people and making it clear that you hate them??

LMFAO!!!

A recent statistical study shows beyond doubt that pickles are deadly. According to the study, every single person who ate the gerkin in the year 1836 has DIED! That's a 100% mortality rate! NOBODY LIVED! And there are NO provisions in either Obamacare nor in the latest GOP health care plan to address this!

But I'm just betting there's a case study to show that Single Payer would NEVER have had such results... go figure!

Classic Post hoc logical fallacy. "Since event Y followed event X, event Y must have been caused by event X."

Did you study mathmatics (sic) with 4est_4est_Gump and/or Trysail?

85% of the US were pretty much happy with their health insurance but they had to be fucked over to service 15% of the population WHO STILL AREN'T ON FUCKING BOARD unless they're now eligible for the new Medicaid rolls...

55% is barely a pass even in high school

In American politics, 55% is considered a landslide.

The number of interest is when you combine the keep/amend people and compare them to the repeal people. That's 66% to 30%.

The first poll says more people prefer ACA vs. the Republican plan. I seriously doubt anyone could even come close to defining exactly what the GOP wants to do.

Guppies want to cut taxes on the rich and shift them to the poor. That's all ACA and "tax reform" are about -- further bloating the already-bloated. The health of Americans, and thus the strength, prosperity, productivity, and worth of the nation, are irrelevant. Their corporate owners say JUMP and they respond, HOW FAR?

A majority of Americans are ready to move on from healthcare reform at this point after the U.S. Senate's effort to dismantle Obamacare failed on Friday, according to an exclusive Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Saturday.

Nearly two-thirds of the country wants to either keep or modify the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare, and a majority of Americans want Congress to turn its attention to other priorities, the survey found.

The July 28-29 poll of more than 1,130 Americans, conducted after the Republican-led effort collapsed in the Senate, found that 64 percent said they wanted to keep Obamacare, either "entirely as is" or after fixing "problem areas." That is up from 54 percent in January.

When asked what they think Congress should do next, most Americans picked other priorities such as tax reform, foreign relations and infrastructure. Only 29 percent said they wanted Republicans in Congress to "continue working on a new healthcare bill."

15% of the population is on Obamacare. 85% of the population are on employer plans. Therefore when you poll people with no skin in the game, they have no idea what Obamacare does, therefore they have no strong feelings about it one way or another.

It's a fake poll...

Fake News.

Just because someone has employer provided insurance does not mean they have no "skin in the game".
The ACA established minimum standards for health insurance policies including
  • Your children can stay on family plan until age 26
  • No "pre-existing conditions"
  • No "lifetime caps"

People actually like those changes.

Why should they? You and the other partisan (D)'s will pretend whatever turd (D) generates is awesome!!!
The original ACA was pretty damn close to single payer, it was only after all the amendments to appease republicans that it became such a piece of shit.
So a good idea was turned to shit to get republicans to vote for it then they refused to vote for it so they could blame democrats for a piece of shit.

He also said the GOP would plan would be even better. People believed him. Personally I don't get people who choose to believe an demonstrable liar, but many did.
If he'd told the truth I've no doubt those who voted for him because of the above would not have voted for him.

Weren't you one of the multitude who said the ACA would have "death panels" as another reason to oppose it?

Then why are Emergency Rooms required by law to stabilize and treat?

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) is a federal law that requires anyone coming to an emergency department to be stabilized and treated, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay

It leveled the playing field in health insurance, that's for sure.
One of the important pieces (forcing states to expand Medicaid in exchange for 90% subsidy) was declared unconsitutional (and rightly so, this WAS federal overreach), and Congress underestimated conservative states turning down expanded medicaid funding to make points with their base.

The Palinistas and their "death panels".

He just said it was shit, are you really that blinded by your derp?

That's not the tune he and all the other (D)'s were singing before it turned out to be the total fucking bullshit scam everyone not drinking Dear Leader's Kool-Aid said it was.

Prior to it actually coming out and fucking the working class up the ass......it was the greatest thing ever and anyone saying otherwise was racist.

Just because someone has employer provided insurance does not mean they have no "skin in the game".

They sure seem unhappy with the astronomical costs they have and continue to incur.

The original ACA was pretty damn close to single payer, it was only after all the amendments to appease republicans that it became such a piece of shit.

Why are (D)'s with total control trying appease republicans who don't want them doing what they are doing yet they have a mandate and campaigned on doing??

So a good idea was turned to shit to get republicans to vote for it

No, it was turned shit to stroke off alllllllllllll those special interest who gave (D) mega billions to campaign.

then they refused to vote for it so they could blame democrats for a piece of shit.

They didn't have to do anything....it was Democrats piece of shit. They voted for it and signed it into law as Dear Leaders landmark HC reform legislation. You and all the other (D)'s here cheered it's praises and Dear Leader for it.

Until you all found out you got scammed by a bunch of corporate (D)'s and suddenly found yourselves DESPERATE to blame (R) for a piece of legislation 100% passed by (D)'s and supported by ZERO (R)'s.

Then why are Emergency Rooms required by law to stabilize and treat?

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) is a federal law that requires anyone coming to an emergency department to be stabilized and treated, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay

Because Reagan care, the horrible idea that ruined our HC in the first place.

What's that got to do with the post you partially quoted?

Did you happen to catch Fox and Friends on Friday?

I don't think they understand the concept of insurance.

You spend too much time fixating on polls.

Most of these are no better than push-polls designed to create a story narrative as they did during the last election. All you do is rush in here with every poll that seemingly confirms your bias while ignoring polls that don't. It also puts you in the comfortable position of not having to think out topics and having a conversation about them, but sweetie, a poll is not a fact.

We really shouldn't be fixating on polls; we should just make up what we want like AJ.

Okeyyyyy, time to put up or shut up. Where did you come up with that 85% figure? Got a cite? Or did it spring whole from your fertile imagination? Because if you can't provide some back up that's the only explanation. Oh and by the way, don't try to use a poll to back your claim. They're all crap remember? So let's hear it, where did it come from? Or are you gunna pull a Donald on us?

Comshaw

Because it proves healthcare is not a "goods and service" like any other.
