Art in movies that I did like:
The paintings (and drawings), by Francesco Clemente (Finn's work in the movie) in the 1998 "Great Expectations" with Gwyneth Paltrow & Ethan Hawke (Finn). They were somewhat "primitive", but powerful. Somewhat evocative of Egon Schiele's work.

and... The slide show of Brad Holland's work in "9 1/2 weeks"
I LOVE Holland's work, and it was even better in this context, where Elizabeth (Kim Basinger) is masturbating in the darkened room while the slides are projected in succession. Holland did fantastic cover art (and spot illustrations) for Time magazine and great spot illustrations for Playboy.

That is a detail of the butt-plug ink well that is in her ass.
She has to hold very still and not spill a drop.

The holding still is (partially) how this relates to the recent drawings.

Superbike is one of a handful that use photographic image for inspiration.
Originally a photo of a LITster "seated" on a stool.

They all have some "story", large or small.
