The Living Works of Art Challenge

Great efforts from wilderness and HR (as always)! Top marks to coach too for making me laugh. :D

So, sneaking in just before the deadline, here is my effort. It is prop-free, as the hotel room didn't supply arrows, though we did consider asking at reception.

I like this pose. And I know where to look even without arrows to point for me.

Maybe no props to work with, but you still get props from me.

What is the world coming to when hotels don't have arrows on hand? ugh, society is falling away!! *cries* :(

The naked man in the photo makes up for any lack of arrows though Hornblende!! :)

Fantastic!
Even without arrows.

Thanks Icy! :rose:

The last thing you want to arouse is suspicion. ;)

I could've pretended I was re-enacting a battle. :D

Bravo. Very well posed, even without the arrow.

Thanks JRP - it's fun to rejoin the challenge!

Thank you, MsG...:rose:

I know, service isn't what it used to be. :D. Thank you, Tal! :rose:

I'll set the bar low for the other models.

In this scene, we find David at Bathsheba's, specifically in her bedroom. They have planned an afternoon of getting to "know" each other, as the Bible has it, when suddenly, the sound of a chariot pulling up in the driveway startles them. "It's Uriah!" she cries, and David, in a state of deshabille, struggles to dress and run all at once, thinking to himself, "Goliath wasn't as much trouble as this guy."

Haha. Well done Glendale. I love the scene you set and the accompanying pic.

Low? Pfftt!!

I don't think I would mind if your clothes NEVER get on the right way, just don't hurt anything important! ;)

Always glad to hear you like the pics. That you like the setting of the scene is a bonus.

I don't want to hurt anything either, so I'll leave the clothes off since you say so.

Low . . . not hardly. Art is about creativity . . . and this piece has it in spades. A little humor is always appreciated too.

I would have bet you were going to stick with the baseball theme. The pose actually looks a lot like the tail end of a home-run swing. Perhaps I should depart from my normal role as the straight man and give that interpretation a go.

Still laughing that I'm supposed to be Bathsheba. I like my David, though.

We can always use more ballplayers.;)

Brilliant, MrG! :D

Thank you. Good to hear from fellow models.;)

And I go for my Bathsheba, even when she laughs at me.

While I alluded to the possibility of taking a more liberal and humorous approach to this challenge than I usually do, in the end I just tried to replicate the original.

Here are my renditions of Bernini's David:

But that is a baseball in the sling, isn't it? The Cards need anything that will put the ball in play. And if you make the Hall of Fame, you've already got a great pose for the statue outside the stadium.
