The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXV: It's Only Castles Burning

One was photo. The expensive one, was a few km's from the toll booth. I didn't even have my foot on the gas. They pulled me and 5 other cars as we paid the toll
260 dollars.

The photo tickets are not super expensive. A bill that I do not want or need. It is really more about getting my widdle feewings hurted by the damn thing getting my number.

Don't get me wrong. I love the hairy muff thread. I just like them a little more tidy and trimmed up.

Is that so much to ask??

My little 2.0 litre French rocket will piss all over one of your huge engined yank monstrosities on any road that isn't a five mile long straight.

My dad used to race Mustangs and Corvettes with his Renault R5 LeCar. 1.1 litre 4 cyl. with 4 speed manual transmission. Would have them for half a block before he let off. What 'stang or 'vette driver can resist when some guy in a LeCar starts to rev his engine at the lights. My dad liked the R5 said when it broke loose in a corner all four wheels would slide at same time. Very predictable he said.

I hate Mustang clutches. Like an on/off switch. I swear the same clutch was in mid 70s Pintos. Short stick too. I learned stick driving on the LeCar and Toyota pickup. Long clutch throws and tall sticks.

In my state they have to serve you in person if you ignore the first photo ticket...

Two months or so of avoiding the process server and you are good.

Pretty much why I put RING on the front gate....

Not expensive here either. I think it was 60 dollars. It was hand delivered, with a signature request. I felt special.

There is a class action law suit against photo radar in Québec. They are stating an officer has to present. I might get a refund.

That's why I have a little Sube. I don't NEED to pilot the old cruiser all the time.

Fuck, I love the GF's Forester. I cannot BELIEVE it's a crossover! Handles like a car, cuz the CG is so nice and low, and even the CVT isn't too annoying.

5.0L Mustang with on/off clutch and rear wheel drive put me off muscle cars for good. Front wheel or AWD 4 cyl. rule my world now. That Mustang was complete shyte to drive in the winter. With FWD you just need to learn to do donuts in reverse.

Plus got into motorcycles. My $500 KZ650 could out run 5.0L Mustangs. Cars are for those who never got over their dads taking their training wheels of their bicycles.

Cars are appliances like dishwashers. Nice to have but not truly a necessity.

The CVT in the Crosstrek is like driving a snowmachine. Easy to get used to.

I will be buying a new Forester for SWMBO this year. The '04 is starting to nickel and dime us.

Sean, it's a Megane, ffs. not a bloody MATRA! :D

You nice older gents are about 20 years behind the times.

Mustang, Vet, Challanger, Charger, hell even the big block Hyundai Genisis will run 3 to 3.5 second 0-60.

Transmission, rear end, gearing, handling ain't what it use to be on the beasts.

You can indeed have your cake and eat it now..

I would LOVE an SRT but right now it's deciding if I can be selfish and get the Mercedes I really want or if I should go for the Tahoe that would make road trips so much easier.

But then I see a Rover that's particularly gorgeous.
