The Black Keys - Tighten Up

Living just to keep going
Going just to be sane
All the while not knowing
It's such a shame

The Foreshadowing - Seven Heads Ten Horns (album)

Imagine Depeche Mode going doom metal. Slow, majestic, HUGE guitars and a singer who channels a LOT of Dave Gahan at his most smokey and sexy. Curious mix, but works wonderfully.

Ephel Duath - The Painter's Pallette

Imagine - black metal meets jazz.

Ihsahn - The Adversary

Iluvatar - Sideshow

(Working at home today - picking out music more or less at random, sorta alphabetically...)

Given the sad state of politics in my country, I'm rocking it semi-old school with Green Day "American Idiot".

Follow it up with Jesus of Suburbia...
or actually, St. Jimmy is better!

Cigarettes and ramen and a little bag of dope
I am the son of a bitch and Edgar Allen Poe
Raised in the city under a halo of lights
The product of war and fear that we've been victimized

Indukti - IDMEN

IQ - Dark Matter

Janis Joplin - Greatest Hits

Going back in time through the magic of home shopping decade compilations (Best of the '70s, '80s ...according to the record label intern's tastes)

Quick summary so far: '70s had great songs, mostly rock. The '80s were the golden pop decade and the '90s... oh god, please kill me. Euro dance. Happy trance. Grunge. Boy bands. Yuck. When the best songs are gangsta rap, you know something is seriously messed up.

on topic:
Cypress Hill - Insane in the Brain

Tonight I feed my soul with the Indigo Girls.

Currently "Blood And Fire" from their second album

I have spent nights
with matches and knives,
leaning over ledges,
only two flights up.
Cutting my heart,
burning my soul.

Nothing left to hold.

Nothing left but
blood and fire.

You have spent nights,
thinking of me,
missing my arms,
but you needed to leave.

Leaving the cuts,
leaving my burns,
hoping I'd learn.

Blood and Fire
are too much for these
restless arms to hold.
And my nights of desire
are calling me,
back to your fold.

I am calling you,
calling you
from 10,000 miles away.
Won't you wet my fire
with your love,
babe?
