RE: I think the true test is how many times you've been on your knees worshipping at the porcelain altar while promising you will "never drink again."

We used to refer to that as 'driving the porcelain bus' .

You're just easy, Sam. ;)

Play it again, Sam.

Play it again, Sam.

"Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, she had to walk into mine."

There's a very interesting little Church (St Bartholomew) in the Shropshire village of Tong. (See http://www.tong-church.org.uk/index.html )

The "Ying Tong Song" (also known by its refrain, which is variously either "Ying tong diddle I po" or "Ying tong yiddle I po" rather than the oft-quoted but apparently absent "Ying tong iddle I po") was a novelty song written by Spike Milligan and performed by The Goons, usually led by Harry Secombe.

Now come one. you should point to it.
Try here.

This had most of us in stitches at the time; it still does. Such glorious insanity !

you might get this one on your version.

Incidentally, I think the trombone on the original was played by George Chisolm.

Reminds me we had 2 trombone players in junior high, but only 1 in elementary school.

Took her forever to learn the last 2 notes only she had at end of some song (don't recall name of it, but worried I'll recall that story at our upcoming reunion).

I grew up with only the females in my family, who were musical addicts. So I sang along, but changed the lyrics.

"76 trombones is what you have. March them all up the hill, & then throw them."
