Don't you think it's a good idea to regroup and assess the fact that hundreds of new rugrats with all their fucked up diseases and cracked out parents? A little time to focus and make better decisions based on this new group of students and challenges?
Do those teacher's unions also repay for all of the out of pocket expenses that teacher's bear the burden of during a school year?

my teacher friends mostly agree that pro days like this are pretty worthless, they spend them either doing their own thing or just catching up/getting ahead on stuff.
my roommate says its usually teacher administrators who benefit from pro days the most since many of them are utter morons (thats just his assessment, but then again he's only been teaching for 3 yrs now)

actually all the teachers i know aren't paid all that much, and this is one of the richest counties in the country.

Yeah, you guys are pretty tight with your teachers...we give ours the world, but then, most of our politicians are teachers and they stick together at contract time.
