Yes well Brandis is up himself and is loyal to his party no matter what, given his job he needs to be impartial. He got laughed when he stated that John Howard was the best PM ever. The guy is totally out of touch with normal people.

Afternoon all,
Well Rio is on and continues to be noted for what is happening outside the Olympics as well as what is happening in the various sports. Good to see the Aussies are doing well. Any gold medal is good. We need to pick up in some of the team sports but got our first medal in Archery. Even watched some sports I wouldn't normally watch.
The new sports announced for Tokyo will be interesting. Waiting for them to include pick-up-sticks and knuckles. If skateboarding can get in then might as well include billy cart racing.
Last week we all finally heard the news on superfoods which most suspected in that it's a myth. Even vitamins and taking fish oil has found to do bugger all. It's fine to blame advertising but that couldn't of happened without all those dietitians and nutritionists pushing that stuff. Kale is nothing but cow food, so the lesson is feed the cows kale, then eat the cows.

His extended stay in Herbert was amusing... didn't help them much. Though maybe he'll be taking the partisan approach a step further by appearing in the much trailed court challenge in person! He's as bad an A-G as Jarrod Bleijie was in Qld under Newman.

I take a few supplements....
Very high dose fish oil as a blood thinner, 8000mg/day. Beats injecting Clexane!
L-lysine to control my shingles.
Vit D because my body doesn't have anywhere near enough.
Magnesium, because cramping calves during sex is a real mood-killer.
All these have shown to work in blood results, so I will continue to take them.
Superfoods, otoh, are not my thing at all. And kale is just nasty.

When I 'arrived' on my very expensive visa... I had to ask specially for a stamp! I mean for a couple of grand you'd think it would be complimentary!

it was standard in 2010. and i got a passport with extra pages after filling the last one, too! still, SE Asia use whole page stickers to bulk out the pages.

Well just completed the census and it wasn't as bad as I thought, then again given my current circumstances I skipped a bunch of questions. Really thought it would be more of a trial given my experience with other govt on-line interaction.
Well done to the Women's Rugby 7's team on their gold medal. First one for us ever in that sport. We didn't do too good in the pool on day 3, but that's sport.
Been difficult to watch a lot of the Olympics live due to the time difference. No commercials that way.

Well I'm guessing your regime is due to medical issues, however a vast majority of people don't have a reason other than to be trendy. Nobody drinking a Kale smoothy actually likes that crap. The same people are part-time vegetarians. There is one TV chef who swears by the healing powers of kale.
I won't ask what positions you get into during sex that causes the cramping calves
I know the Vitamin D thing does work as my blood tests have shown but took a while to show that improvement. The things we need to do when getting older.

Well welcome back to Oz. Yep I felt the same way the last couple of times I went OS, although they haven't stamped passports in Aussie land for a while now.
Not sure why there is an option to get the higher number of pages in passports these days since a lot of countries don't stamp passports anymore. Liked the US one, wasn't impressed with the French one which was a stapled bit of paper.
I would say you've arrived during Winter but if you're in WA well its probably just nice temps.

Apparently, the entire website was shut down shortly after 7-30pm..... but I got messages saying 'try again in 15 minutes' repeatedly during the evening AFTER that time.

Maybe the reason the denial of service happened was that too many Aussies were trying to post multiple times. Has Australia got broadband yet or still on dialups?

Wasn't the census a spectacular balls up? Denial of Service, only from a government authority!
Just imagine if we had the proper NBN, we might have been able to send our data much more efficiently and avoided the overload. Maybe we should have reverted to the old petrol shortage order and had odd numbered houses submit at one time, even at another, everyone else as they could manage.
I can't see how the data collected won't be forever tainted and need a disclaimer about the collection failure and the privacy issues. Bet the ABS head is really earning his huge salary this week.

Ah the census...what a glorious example of government efficiency and confidence....bloody hell. Well, at least I've got Literotica to keep me busy.
