Hottest. Day. Ever.

And us northerners complain when its over 30C!

27C is warm enough for me. Imagine twice that!

This is why the hot spicy food comes out of southern regions. It promotes sweating and further cools you down.

Nothing wrong with hot, sweet tea to replenish lost fluids.

"Twice as hot as that" made me think. It really isn't, in any meaningful way. I suppose one would have to use the Kelvin scale for it to be meaningful and it's only 9% warmer.

Oh yeah, get all technical!

It's fucking hot! And 54 is twice as much as 27.

Like when F and C meet at -40. It's fucking cold!

Picker of nits!

How would you get anything done during the day? I wonder how much a bottle of water costs there?

Looked about WWW. Apparently Kuwait has some of the cheapest water prices in the world. Maybe 25 cents for a 330ml bottle. 1 dollar for a liter bottle.

Good bludday thing!

Protein starts cogulating at around 40-50 C. I wonder if you could get slow cooked if you don't actively cool off.

It's not the heat so much as the humidity .Dry heat at 45C is bearable if unpleasant .with high humidity it's horrible .
That's the hottest I've endured and don't want to do it again .

I will take -25C over 50C any day! Lots of thing you can do to stay warm and just dress properly.

For those familiar with numbers, two times 27 is 54.

Please tell me that spicy food comment was a joke... If not, I want to know where you got that information from.

We had a heat wave. Temps creeping up toward 100f.

We will be continuing our heat wave.

We are having a drought, despite sticky wet air.

Some get a quick downpour and a flood. Some get sparse droplets
(not watercolours, you demented computer.) that evaporate.

Spicy food causes gustatory facial sweating which enhances cooling.

Many hot spices are also anti-microbial, very good in hot climes were food may spoil faster.

Hot spices also tend to grow in hot climes. People would have eaten native plants.

Spicy food stimulates digestion and the transfer of food energy when outside temps get exceptionally hot and humid.

Capsaicin found in peppers binds to heat receptors tricking them into thinking the body is suffering from too much heat

Southern China were it is very hot has more spice than northern China were it is cooler.

I seen this lil chickenhead I know walking around outside with a bathing suit on. She ain't go to no beach, lake not even a pool. I guess it's that hot outside.

I don't mind the heat, I've been in temps as high as 115F, but it's the humidity which saps your energy.

Unfortunately I live up the road from a creek (that's a body of water the size of one of your rivers for those of you in the middle of the country) and our river a few miles down the road. We literally cannot get a break when the tropical air from the South comes in because they add to the effect.

Huh. I didn't know that. Interesting. Learn something new every day.

The Great Lakes surrounding us have a moderating effect. Take a bit of the edge of the heat and cold. Also add some moisture when to dry. Certainly not maritime but makes a difference.

Hate that Gulf stream of hot humid air that comes up here. When the winds are southerly during the summer you know the weather is going to suck. Large population of southern neighbours adds to smog levels too.

When LP systems bring winter storms, winds switch to out of the east.

Westerly winds are best and predominant. Can't beat a northern wind for crisp clean air. Bloody cold in winter though.
