Pokemon Go. I probably won't get in the game but I think it's pretty cool watching it spread like wild fire. And the haters, guessing it's like most hate, uninvolved, uninformed, someone doing something different. But as we well know, nobody likes a hater.

*looks up from my hot game of mahjong* Papa doesn't like me?

I'm not selfish, not one bit.
I'm a big believer in doing a little extra for the greater good, the big pic of life. Religion didn't shove it down my throat or my parents. It's something I feel deep inside, always been there. Never once have I had to think twice about it. Whether it's a donation of my time, talent or money, I'm happy to give, making someone's else life or day a little more tolerable. And if that $5 is used to take away the shakes of drug/ alcohol addiction or a sandwich, so be it. I'm not here to judge anyone or use my sharp tongue to disagree. I'm just me, happy and paving my path through life.
Moving to the sex side of the question, I love giving and not always being on the receiving end. But don't let it become a habit.

Pokemon - this app made my life a living hell yesterday when the youngest rediscovered his love for these little creatures. It's all good. Just not with my phone. ;)

In order:
Pokemon: I just downloaded it, We'll see how far I take it, but for now, I'm open to having fun with it and any adventures, big or small, that it brings.
Haters: I know they exist, but I believe if you let the opinions of others, especially strangers, impact what you do or how you feel, you're giving a lot of power to someone you don't care about.
Selfish: I don't think I am. Pragmatic? Yes. So in that sense, I understand every act of giving has a benefit to the giver, if nothing more than the endorphin release from feeling good about oneself. But, we live in a global society in which sharing, and giving, and not being selfish is beneficial to the whole. To make the world a better place we must give and share a part of ourselves.
Sexually, I get a large amount of arousal out of "giving". If I can make you cum a half dozen times first, my orgasm will be even better. That being said, it can be taken advantage of and turn into a one sided relationship. Both partners need to give.

TLDR: Pokemon=yay for now
Haters=Boo for ever
Selfish: Sharing=caring, giving=happy O faces

Walks in late on purpose, no sense being too predictable. ;)

So last night at Baseball's All-Star game the 4 Tenors sang the Canadian national anthem and one of them took the opportunity to change the words to the anthem and make a political statement.

What are your thoughts on celebrities of all types (actors, singers, athletes) using the forum of entertainment to espouse their views? Rehardless of agenda, should entertainers use the forum of their respective profession as a launching pad for their views or should they make a statement elsewhere allowing those that came for the entertainment to enjoy without being subjected to political views?

They get paid to do a job. Do the job. Do politics somewhere else. Should be a breach of contract in my opinion and they either not get paid, or get sued, or both. I wonder how that turned out for the 4 Tenors?

I'll reiterate what MrTenant said, though I'm loathe to talk about another country's politics.

As I see it, just as it isn't right for a celebrity to spout off about politics during one of their concerts or other form of entertainment, it's equally wrong for a person from one country to say what should or shouldn't be going on in another country. It also depends on which country is involved. It's hardly right to say what should be going on in let's say a socialist dictatorship like Cuba, or the old USSR where "you don't tell Russia what you think, Russia tells you what to think," to parody the old Yackoff Smirnoff (whatever his name was); Russian defector turned comedian.
Though it would be different again if someone from another country asked what I thought about what was going on in their country.

I will say I don't mind when I saw celebrities stepping forward to encourage young voters to vote here in the US, a few years back. They weren't telling anybody who to vote for, but only to vote.

There was a young woman I worked with once, and while we were car pooling to some event, the subject of who to vote for came up. She was clueless on who to vote and asked for our (my and another old guy's) opinions. He didn't want to say anything one way or another. I tried to field the answer though.

I told her what each party is historically supposed to stand for. I told her how, years ago, I was against the first "read my lips, no new taxes" Bush, and how he wanted to allow outsourcing work for companies in this country. I told her how I voted for Clinton because I wanted someone from a party that historically stood up for the American workers. Then I told her how, in the first 100 days of his taking office, Clinton took that same proposed legislature Bush was saying he would enact, and instead, Clinton, put that legislature through, opening the doors for outsourcing.

Then I told her, what I think; it really doesn't matter what party you vote for because they seem to be out for themselves and their affiliates, they don't care about the people of the USA.

Then she asked "but who should I vote for now?" I told her; It's the right and responsibility of each citizen to vote, AND not be told by another who to vote for. That was part of what this country was started for; people having a right to choose for themselves.

Edit: I had to write this twice as I was logged out during the first version and forgot to mention a fine point this time:
To get back to the topic question, the reason it is reprehensible for an entertainer to discuss politics during a concert or ballgame, is because people aren't paying to hear a dissertation on politics when they go to be entertained. They go to be entertained to get away from the real world, to relax and unwind.

You don't mess with the National Anthem of any country. It's disrespectful. Save your politics for elsewhere.

I think it's silly. Just sing your fucking song. It always makes me so annoyed when these actors and entertainers use their platform for their out of touch views. Hearing some jackass who flew to some award show on a private jet, then rode home from said award show in a big ass limo preach to me about the horrible effects we have on the environment is ludicrous. These people are so out of touch with the majority of Americans. And they are only in the media because they are talented. Not because they are doing something for society. They just have talent, which I appreciate. But it's silly for them to think that makes them an authority on anything other than their craft.

I think there is an increasingly dangerous fusion of media, politics and entertainment.

I stopped reading after "I". No one gives a shit about you.

I missed most of the Pokemon Go talk but it looks fun, I have it on my phone, but the weather and work have made the actual time I have to try it next to none. Also all the carriers raking in the extra money for LTE and 4G as people go to random places for their fix. XD

I was in a chat room discussing a similar subject with J. Michael once and the result was this quote, which applies to what you said...

"I don't watch TV. It's a cultural wasteland filled with inappropriate metaphors and an unrealistic portrayal of life created by the liberal media elite."

Well clearly you've never seen Game of Thrones.
