Having been in bad life threatening situations before, that is normal. It is as if you are watching from across the room. It also happens when you get a medical crisis induced "sense of impending doom" You are not actively composing yourself, you are dead calm, it's beyond your control.

She has given short interviews. Their daughter is 4 hrs old so at least that long.

The police officer perceived it as a lethal threat and neutralized the threat.

Anyone who carries a weapon is "living" that way; doesn't have anything to do with right or wrong, guilt or innocence: everyone who carries a sword, lives by that sword.

If so it would better explain her reaction and may explain if they misunderstood or didn't follow any instructions the officer gave. Also if he was in possession of mj and a weapon in the presence of a 4 year old he's asking for trouble.

Now don't take that as an excuse for what happened, at best the officer showed very poor judgement in his reaction or he was a loose cannon emotionally.

Based on the officers reaction I HIGHLY doubt he was just out to execute a black person that or any other night. Lets not forget after all the protests/incidents since Ferguson and the Baton Rouge incident the night before cops may have understandably been on edge.

I have a feeling cops will just quit interacting as much as possible to avoid these situations and crime in many of the poor neighborhoods will skyrocket as the typical problem people will take control as they did in the late 70's and early 80's.

It's "troubling", and my favorite part of the statement was the need for the injection of race. So much twatage.

Must be another "black" thing, wannabe, 'cause I don't read any outrage from the NRA about the federal felony Alton Sterling was committing when he was killed, either...

Nor any outrage, of course, from other two-faced pieces of racist shit like anit-Amendment II you, who - if Sterling hadn't been black - would be commenting on that fact of his case.

Castile was shot because of progressive demands for equality, that anyone can be a police officer, firefighter, soldier, etc, when natural law dictates the positions in life which demand the most responsibility should only be filled by those most talented in that regard...

From simply his hysterical exhibition after he shot Castile, the cop should've never been issued a government gun in the first place, and that's totally on you progressives and your insistence on diversity instead of qualification.

The man had a gun on her, the cop sounds like he was freaking out, and she had a child in the back to keep calm. Her freaking out could have made things worse, self preservation kicked in.

I don't think the cop was out to kill that night.
It is not a poor area or a rich one for that matter.

The south and west sides of Chicago are totally out of control, not so much because cops have quit interacting, but because there are too few cops and bad political decisions.

she was doing a fantastic job of preserving the safety of her child first and foremost, then herself and her partner in an unbelievably shocking situation, and minimising the trauma. her presence of mind to record what was happening will be the best evidence of what happened, and it clearly shows she was clued up on the need to get supporting evidence.

my hat's off to an incredible woman in this time of her loss.
