Philando Castile

The girlfriend stated today that as Philando was reaching for his wallet he said 'I have a concealed weapon.' That's when the cop lost it.

If that's what he said, it is a bad choice of words, as a CCW holder, we were instructed in a traffic stop to keep your hands on top of the steering wheel and say to the LEO, 'For your safety and mine, I want you to know that I have a permit to carry and I am carrying, How do you wish to proceed?' Then follow the officer's instruction.

As for the other officers ordering the girlfriend to walk backwards and cuffing her, these officers are responding to a shooting, they are not taking any chances, and her compliance was the correct thing to do.

But he shouldn't have shot him. He should have told him to put his hands back up.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all "lose it" at our jobs and have it result in people's deaths and have people saying it was okay?

If everybody carried guns the nation would be safer, except from the cops.

This whole Minnesota slaughter is soooo day before yesterday.

"Jeronimo Yanez" isn't as easily insertable into the boilerplate. If "Juanito Rodriquez" would've been cast as the dead guy, hardly any attention would have been payed at all.

It's the narrative, stupid.

Which, btw, you do a great job pimping.

I'll be curious what the investigation finds about whether or not he had the CCL. (So far, I've only see his girlfriends claim that he did.)

He did.

Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus: “....This tragedy may also offer an opportunity to take a hard look at police training and protocols related to interactions with armed citizens who are legally carrying a firearm. Despite their portrayal by some, law-abiding permit holders are statistically among the safest populations in our state. With more than 221,000 Minnesotans holding a Permit to Carry, nearly 1 out of every 25 citizens encountered by police may legally be carrying a firearm...As the investigation proceeds and the facts become clearer, the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus offers to work with any law enforcement agency that wishes to review their protocols and training for interactions with legally armed citizens.”

The guy was a law-abiding, everyday citizen. He was shot for enjoying his constitutionally protected right to carry a firearm, but he was also almost certainly shot because of the color of his skin.

I am a law-abiding CCL holder, and I see this incident as a real tragedy.

I couldn't agree more.

Much like the 'person of interest'.

It is so easy to judge the police and so hard to put yourself into their shoes...

When Philando Castile was pulled over Wednesday night by officers Jeronimo Yanez and Joseph Kauser, purportedly for a broken tail light according to the video account of the aftermath of his being shot and killed by Yanez made by passenger Diamond Reynolds, the officers' real reason for wanting to pull them over and check I.D.s is because they thought he was a robbery suspect, according to scanner audio obtained by KARE 11 NBC TV in Minneapolis.

The station did verify the license plate mentioned was that of the car Castile was driving, and the "locations mentioned also correspond" to the stop. They did not get police to authoritatively state that it was indeed scanner audio preceding the incident.

An officer says "I'm going to stop a car and check I.D.s. I have reason to pull it over, the two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery. The driver looks more like one of our suspects just 'cause of the wide-set nose." A minute and a half later, "shots fired" is said on the audio.

The broken tail light seems to be as big a lie as the gentle giant being on his knees with his hands up and stil being "executed."

the broken tail light is always a lie.

Blacks in a shitty car in a more affluent white neighborhood get pulled over.

I think cops should not be allowed to pull you over without a verifiable infraction having taken place.

They do these roadside checks up here where they block a road to check your safety inspection sticker...and look at your license... And ask if you've been drinking today....

Fucking bullshit. Fuck the police. I dont pay their salary to harass me like a Czech border guard.

"Please step out of the car."

I think that, the do you know why I stopped you, broken taillight gambit leaves them a lot safer than, I pulled you over because I think you're an armed bank robber...

;) ;)

Every time the police bend the rules, we are a little less free.

While this is true, I'm more worried about the attitude of those at the top of our food pyramid ignoring the rules as if they do not apply to them.

However, blacks are going to get what they demand; the police are going to withdraw and leave them to matriculate in their own stew...

What was it our libs said when Barack Obama destroyed Iraq?

THOSE people just hate each other, we're better off letting them kill each other off!

St Anthony police handed out 2400+ tickets last year, it's an active revenue stream.

Some of the reports make it sound like it was human factors disaster just waiting to happen.

I look forward to the results of the investigation.

The one thing that concerns me is the almost sociopathic and mechanical detached commentary of the driver. It freaks me out every time they play some of the clip.

She wasn't the driver. The video is a mirror image. And yes, something very strange about her.
