Ladies: Coconut oil for lube? Anyone had problems?

I didn't find anything readily apparent in a forum search.

My wife would like to try coconut oil for sexual lube. I see lots of anecdotes about it being great, but science appears to be lacking.

Aside from obvious incompatibility with latex condoms and some toys like other oils, have any of you ladies had bad affects? Consistent UTI, Yeast etc. problems?

I'm interested in hearing positive feedback too, but in terms of caring for my wife's lovely, little love tunnel, it's the negatives I'm trying to avoid.

I'm not looking for medical advice, but any links to good info are also appreciated. I'm an adult. I can make my own safety decisions and take responsibility for my choices. ;)

Thanks in advance.

I have used coconut oil as lube but it was more of an enhancement as I am a medical cannabis patient and we used medical cannabis infused coconut oil that made her orgasm last almost double the time with a lot more intensity. But for the lubing factor it was great. 100% natural organic oil used and it is completely safe.

I been considering this too. When people comment, please specify what you were using the lube for: anal, vaginal, oral, etc.

We've used coconut oil anally, works like a charm every time. Though obviously it wasn't inserted into a female ass, but an ass is an ass is an ass.

Hubby especially prefers it if we've been at it frequently and he's feeling a bit sore up there. Possibly a mental thing, nicer to use a natural ingredient than something that's made of propylene glycol, glycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose, phenoxyethanol, what have you.

I'm not sure why we haven't ever tried it vaginally. Probably cos vaginal sex is usually more spontaneous than doing anal, so neither has any interest to run to the pantry :D Might try it out at some point though.

Thanks for the great input so far.

My interest is mainly vaginal, but the more info, the better.

As for oral, it's another reason why, if it's safe, it's my preference too. I'm not interested in licking up chemicals.

If you like the coconut taste then I would most definitely go for it! Actually can't understand why we haven't tried that either, we both love coconut! Must fix this tonight, time for hubby to have a coconutty dessert!

I've used this vaginally and anally with no problems. It's supposed to be pretty safe and everything I've read says it's naturally antibacterial. Good luck! :D

Should add, I only use virgin, organic, unrefined coconut oil, so it's not over pressed etc.

I tried it recently when playing anally for the first time. It definitely made a huge difference and whilst it helped, penetration was unsuccessful.
I generally don't need it vaginally, but must say it feels incredible when it's slightly warmed up and you use it down there ;)

I think I should have included that in the OP. Virgin, organic, unrefined is the only kind I'd consider.

Costco for the win, on that one. There's is excellent quality.

For first time anal penetration, I'm betting it wasn't the lubricant that inhibited your success.

Don't give up. Relax, breathe, go slow and easy...you'll make it. I bet you'll love it too.

Good luck!

It sounds like fun times are in order at your place. At least this thread inspired some fun!

I have only used it while masturbating with my fingers but it feels amazing. It makes me last longer. And I haven't had any issues with it

How right you are. And considering I was experimenting solo, I've only my own mind in the way!!
Thanks for the words of advice and encouragement. I have wondered if maybe it's just not for me but also think I should keep perhaps keep trying

My wife and I too love it! It has not caused any problems in over a month...it is fantastic and very slick and cheap...love it!

That's a lovely image. You definitely ought to keep trying.

Thanks again for more great input.

Has anyone had trouble? This thread is becoming very encouraging.

Coconut oil is awesome! I've used it as a personal lube... you know... with myself. Probably will again ... because... my partner (read: Me) doesn't mind it one bit, and it's scentless, food grade, if that matters to you. It's lovely for the skin and all...

Why are you so stressed about this? It's not that tough to find out which oils are suitable for internal use and which ones are not. At some point you just have to experiment. People respond differently to different things. It's apparent that its generally not a problem. If she has a specific medical issue that you're concerned about consult your physician. If not, give it a try and see if you experience the same success the others here have. Likely you will.

Yyyyeah...no stress, just looking for feedback where people will get it. Most people, that is.

It's actually been interesting to hear people's thoughts.

smh

coconut oil is good use it itself also, from tasty ago but not so good on the tongue

But as a customer of Costco, don't you think that will be too much or does it take a long time to expire or you are doing it that often with the lube that you are using it all up before it even expires?

I use coconut oil for it's culinary properties and as a beard oil already. We already go through it fast enough to use it up. Plus, Costco's isn't really a ridiculously large amount, at least, when last I bought it.

Coconut oil is naturally self preservative and doesn't go rancid the way some other food grade oils do too, so it lasts until you need it.

Adding it as a sexual lube will only further justify it as a Costco purchase.
