Ahhhh so a full blow out! Awesome! Well, at least you still burned some calories!

I spent the three hour walk thinking about the positives. That was one of them.

P.S., "awesome" is not exactly the word I'd use to describe it. For the most part, four letter words seem perfectly sufficient. :) :) :)

..
There's some stuff you might be interested in, use it in my mower tires
Flatproof don't think this is the same thing and it's heavy

A "flat proof" or "run flat" bicycle tire is the Holy Grail for manufacturers. You'd think if they can do it for automobile tires, they'd be able to do it for bicycles. Thus far, it seems to have eluded them.

The closest they've come (at least as far as I've seen) is Schwalbe, who makes a bicycle tire with an extra ½" of rubber on the tread as an attempted preventative against punctures.

I suspect there may be an element of trade-offs involved, as well. They might be able to do it— but worry that there's a limited market for $50 ?/ $80 ?/ $100 ? bicycle tires.

If you'd seen the hole in my tire, I think you'd probably have agreed there was no solution other than a long walk and a new tire.

Although I picture myself in the crazy poofy dress dancing with David Bowie.

Starting a new prescription today, time release non-citric vitamin C. Fingers crossed.

A spare tube (unfortunately) can't fix a blown tire. :) :)

My bicycle mechanic said I must have run over "something really nasty."

I draw the line at carrying spare tires.

Kevlar bead folding tires are an option.

How old was the tire on the Peugeot that needed replacement?

Good luck! :rose:

Thanks, I find it somewhat amusing. I am now up to 11-12 medications/day, 7 of which are OTC, of those 3 are considered supplements. No bad side effects so far.
I still feel a bit like I am walking a tightrope but now there is more of a net underneath me.:)
