I would put my actual life experiences and training up against your internet searches articles that support your view point. The whole rapists and or predators will now have easier access to me or my children is completely false. There's nothing to stop them right now. Who would be able to tell would probably vary greatly depending on the person. Transgender is about gender identity, not only about what pills one takes or not. Someone can be transgender and think, act, dress and even convincingly look like a woman (or man, depending) while not yet having started hormone therapy.

In the case of the latter, there's definitely less risk than the one posed for women and kids.
Because, on top of that: the prevalence of individuals with GID is infinitessimal compared to that of paedophils, peeping Toms and other sexual deviants who could take advantage of the new experiment.

They tried testing it on a smaller scale in cities like Charlotte. The NC state government put a stop to that.

the historical facts of an individual's birth cannot be changed, but medical procedures can change the body to match the gender a person is, later in life. and thank goodness for that. I can't begin to imagine the extent of fuckupedness that must occur to a transexual's mental health if forced to live with the disparity IF they hate each day in the mis-gendered body.

No butters , cosmetic surgery can be used to change a persons outward appearance to match the gender they identify with, it can't change their biological birth facts or really change their gender. It's not about which bathroom someone uses, that's a red herring. The big issue is is about the government trying squash ( using threats) a state legislatures right to pass a law (stupid or otherwise) which it does not agree with.

As far as public bathroom use goes, as a society there has been no collective consensus that all should be unisex. Until that point is reached, gender specific is the "norm", like it or not.

This issue is the result of pushback to the attempt to social engineer , ie ram "everything fringe" down peoples throats, under the guise of civil rights. I'm sorry bit just because someone "self identifies" as a man or woman does not change their biological make up. It also doesn't warrant granting or recognizing new civil rights into law over how someone feels about their identity.

The gender of your birth can be altered or even hidden cosmetically but that's about it. A man can never truly become a woman and vise versa. A person can play dress up and pretend all they want but it doesn't mean people have to accept your Fantasy. Wishing you were a man or woman does not make you one.

I didn't mean that, but I might have miscommunicated what I intended to say. What I meant was: Two people with GID enter a male toilet.
- Person no. A. is in the "pre-hormonal phase" so he looks 100% like a man. Like Bruce Jenner 20 years ago.
- Person no. B is undergoing or finished hormonal treatment and the physical changes are obvious. Like Bruce Jenner as of late.

Imo, person no. B is at risk of being a victim of violence if he enters a male bathroom. So he should use the female bathroom.

Whereas -as long as he keeps his mouth shut and he doesn't make confessions to the other male occupants- person A is at lower risk if he uses a male toilet. Because he looks like a man, he has a penis, so how could the other male occupants possibly figure it out?

The institute is working on a study to learn if extending public accommodations rights to transgender people leads to more crimes by predators.

Early indications are that it does not.

One thing she can say for certain: Based on her survey of 93 transgender and gender non-conforming people in Washington, D.C., in 2008 and 2009, they themselves are at risk in restrooms.

"About 70 percent of the sample reported experiencing being denied access to restrooms, being harassed while using restrooms and even experiencing some forms of physical assault," says Herman.

Eight of the 93 respondents in her survey said they had been physically attacked in a restroom.
