But that's exactly the outcome that she was hoping for: to be punched by him and then play the victim card.

As difficult as it was for him, I admire his level of restraint (I would certainly have lashed out or punched her) and his wisdom (he figured out her game and he realised that, if he even touches her, he"ll likely face some form of disciplinary action even be expelled).

Was their confrontation motivated by racial tension or by other things like personal dislike? Who knows.

I'm not a huge fan of using force when it's not absolutely necessary. Essentially you should never be in a fight you know you can win unless it's utterly unavoidable. I would have dumped the girl on her ass, probably several times before quite possibly knocking her straight the fuck out. One lesson I have learned painfully is that even if you can put someone down relatively easily eventually they'll get lucky.

Also, if he'd been 6'2" and 200+ pounds, no way she would've approached him in the way she did, and this needs to be addressed. That smile on her face is one of a bully.

The woman in the video did not do what you did. You gave relevant information to people who don't understand the full history and situation in a calm and respectful manner. You left if for members of our shared community to take in an take from it what they will. The woman in the video never gave that same respect to the kid i the video.

Yeah, I went to that link for the vid and there are some people saying this was staged. I think it could go either way, but the intention and deliverance has a negative result that doesn't help the message. These things go viral online for the sake of sensation and actual context is lost. At that point, the damage is done and nothing has been learned.

The black people I know who rock actual dreadlocks — and truly live that life, with all the negative stigma attached to them instead of having a temporary fashion — aren't dramatically confrontational about others' appropriating their hair culture. They're more likely to internally dismiss you or consider you foolish. If any dragging is done, it'll be online, in personal blogs and published articles, where knowledge is better spread and given.

But even in SF I wouldn't be going to jail with that many witnesses around +film of her initial assault, she however would be facing criminal charges and I would have her prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
