I took the boss out to eat last night, thinking it would be less crowded. Wrong. The restaurant was swamped with people. But I got my prime rib and she got her jumbo shrimp.

I don't do bears.

You thought a restaurant would be less crowded on Valentine's Day weekend.

On a Friday night.

Your social / real-world IQ must be next to nil. Or you're ancient.

Its W's fault.

The bride was at the Hospice thrift shop Thursday when a girl lugged in a teddy bear her boyfriend bought her.

His virtual-world IQ is about the same.

My reservations were made three weeks ago for tomorrow. I bet I'll still wait.

I sidestep the Valentine's Day fuss by having an anniversary on the 11th. *smug*

My ex wife's birthday was 12/22....I was the only one on the hook to get her two gifts, everyone else got away with the B-day/X-mas gift.

It's funny to me that you complain so vigorously about being trolled but then turn around and troll everyone else.

No Valentine's Day celebration for the Better Half and I. Why should I purchase her overpriced shit like roses or jewelry ONCE a year? I get her flowers - both cut and live - during the year, usually cut flowers every 2-3 weeks. I get her candy and cards during the year as well.

Seriously, if you are romantic just once a year, you're not a romantic.

Seriously, wannabe, "flowers - both cut and live", and "candy and cards" sounds like a 5th grader stab at "romantic" - which means your Romeo status just rose in the eyes of many GB progressive women.

Good for you for getting that far...

...I guess.

I never do flowers for Valentine's too cliched-and they jack the price up 500%-I buy them spontaneously throughout the year.

Tell you what, want nice flowers and inexpensive? Stop and Shop is the best, their flowers are gorgeous and the bouquets last two-three weeks and they're only $9.99 to $15.99

I've been married for 31 years! My wife will tell me if she finds what I do and do not do wrong.

I do not need a Romeo status. I find this day a total money grab. Why would YOU need to be so romantic ONE DAY OF THE YEAR, because Hallmark and jewelers say so?

You want to be romantic, give her a flower on a rainy day.
You want to be romantic, send her cookies or a teddy bear after she calls you to tell you she's having a bad day.

Yeah, Valentine's Day purchases show you're a Romeo alright

Local market does 3 bouquets of carnations for $15 and they, too, last 3 weeks, that's if the kitten doesn't eat them.

During Spring, local Lowe's sells potting plants cheap and Better Half "hints" she'd like something to plant.

I remember Valentines Day in the first grade. The cheesy cards. Putting them in the envelopes. Scribing each first name with those ridiculously large black pencils. Even back then I knew there were certain people that were more desirable than others.

We pair up.
It's what we do.
And then we torture each other.

Buy me flowers and I'll wonder what you felt guilty about.

Buy a woman flowers for no reason and she'll be going through your phone, email, computer, wallet and everything else until she finds out what you've done.

Then that's a sad relationship, if you don't have trust you don't have anything.
