Well, it was in bed.....horrid messy back ground and pussy in view :D

I was stuck in bed from yesterday afternoon  but ii just made it to have a bath and feel more mobile so I think I will try to get about now.

A lovely rise on his morning loaf!
It's beautiful! :)

Also, we have the small plums here as well, but just in purple that I have seen. They are sweet, and I much prefer the tart ones so I don't usually buy them, though they are occasionally given to me. When I get them I usually end up putting them in a salad with something more tart, like pineapple, so they taste better to me

PS - Hi kitty kitty :cattail:

So glad to not be alone here in the gutter.:D
Good to hear that you're feeling better Elle!

We had very yummy sourdogh bread, scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast.

We'll see if carnitas, tortillas and mango salsa can live up to that.
The before dinner marguaritas certainly did. I'll have to eat before I finish mine because I seem to have become a cheap date recently.

Master and I went to the local farmer's market today and got ingredients for a few upcoming meals. Strawberries for a coulis over waffles; several heads of garlic for roasting (I've been out for a while), beautiful local oranges for juicing, avocado and tomato for some BLAT sammiches (BLT + Avocado), and for dinner, some locally made green corn tamales.

Did you make 5?

I'm hungry;)

DGE didn't take his, so please have one! :)

Try some lime mayo with your BLAT. Yummy!

I was intuitively saving room for that pizza.

Damn: you are killing me here!

Well it's mostly hot here all year round, so I have to get my carb fests in when it's cold. You know, in the 50s and 60s :p

Oh yeah! Forgot. The pizza also had black olives and feta :D

Chicken breasts cooked in a sauce made of leftover lemonade and chicken stock.
We served it with roasted parsnip and celeriac with garlic, rosemary and trupets of the dead mushrooms.

We need to make sure we have leftover lemonade once in a while.

I am trying to be good and count my calories. I had a cunning plan which I executed this afternoon to make muffins out of ground almonds, eggs, yoghurt, olive oil, to boost my protein and stop me having bread for breakfast. They have turned out well (even though there are no measuring devices in this flat ) but I now realise that almonds are rather calorific

Never mind, they will be yummy. I made 12, so do feel free to try one :)

It's all just prep work, but the kitchen smells amazing right now! We have garlic roasting in the oven, the lingering tang of a half-gallon of freshly squeezed orange/tangerine juice, and a hint of pulverized Mexican cocoa I made to send to my daughter. She loves Abuelita but doesn't have a blender.

Cod with cauliflower and cheddar balls, some sort of sauce and some sort of salad. Don't know exactly what I'm gonna do for sauce and salad.

I feel so guilty about eating cod, though.

Because of over fishing? Here we are told its where the source of the cod is, not a black and white issue. It makes buying a little harder!

Yes, it's definitely about the source. I bought the good MSC certified kind, but still every time I buy cod I feel bad. The same goes to tuna and a few other types of fish. I only buy MSC certified fish and in general try to stick with fish from the WWF's green list, but with some types of fish I still manage to feel guilty. That's why I don't buy them very often, makes me feel like I'm eating a panda.

I am less good about ethics of water dwelling food than land dwelling food :(. If the source is ok and the place doesn't sound unhealthy I am less tuned in. :(. There is some salmon I look at that seems not like salmon. But the choice is on eye and palate first :(.

I'm a lot better about fish, but that's at least partially because at this point we eat more fish than any other type of meat.
