Govt, over decades legislates everything a Rancher does (on HIS property) into a crime.

Then, fines & jails Rancher
 
Any one commenting here ever been there. I have. here is a little background. that county is larger than the state of New Jersey it is larger than Connecticut and Rhode Island combined. There are fewer than 33,000 people in the county. High school students spend the week in town at a boarding high school and go home to the distant Ranches for the weekend. There are a few National monuments of worth there. Some of which were once private ranch land. The BLM has been trying to force ranchers off their land for a number of years to increase the national lands there. The Hammonds were burning some of their private property fields to combat invasive weeds and the fire jumped to so national grass lands. they were prosecuted and spent time in prison. Now one judge has decided they need to spend more time there and is sending them back for up to 5 years.

Now remember, no one was injured, no stores burned or looted. no innocent people pulled from cars and beaten to death. no cops shot, no store keepers bullied and robbed. And now one judge decides the original sentence was not stiff enough and is sending two men back to crowded prisons. The same prisons that have no room for rapists, murderers, rioters and thieves. The same prison that turns violent criminals out to continue rapping and murdering or molesting and robbing.

If that does not make any one wonder what the hell is going on then we are in trouble. The federal building they are occupying is in actuality a ranch house and outbuildings the feds took over when they created the sanctuary. Do I think the bundy guy is correct in his actions, no I do not but I also do not think the feds are close to being right. Don't for a minute think they are trying to save land for you, They are stealing land for big business. They take rancher lands under the guise of protecting the grass and end up letting huge gold mines come in and strip the land. Like one oz. of gold per ten tons of soil moved. then they leave the mess for you the tax payer to clean up. search western Shoshone ranchers versus BLM.

Are you sure that the Hammonds aren't poachers? Many people think that they were. Your "nobody was hurt" lines fall a little hollow.

There are some things that you bring up that are unrelated, and then some things you wrote that are flat out wrong.

The Hammonds have said they have no connection with the terrorists who have seized the federal building. The Hammonds were convicted by a jury of their peers and have exhausted the legal process which mandates they serve a minimum of five years.

This was not one judge deciding anything. They appealed their case to the Supreme Court who agreed that the lower court was correct in giving them the five year minimum.

I also don't understand your use of a child's logic, the idea that, "yes I've done something wrong, but other people have done worse". That doesn't change what the Hammonds did.
 
Many hours later....and so many typical responses. Not thought out at all or even worth debating. Normal these days if you can't have the free speech band they call someone a racist and storm off...even online.

If the police and feds are unable to resolve this, I'm betting that the national guard will be sent in to forcibly put an end to this situation and those involved will be arrested for acts of treason and sedition against the state.

All of your arguments have been based on emotion. Do you have anything to say based on the facts?
 
The BLM (bureau of land management) has a long history of eminent domain abuses and for being an attack dog for corporations/special interests to force people off their rightful land to make room for the lucrative commercial construction projects.

They are probably the most bullying government agency of today.
