You're from NZ (I lived and worked there for many years). So perhaps you will understand my pov, given that several of my former kiwi colleagues shared it.

As far as I see things, there seems to be a trend of PCnness in the entire world, where words are only used as tools, even though some people believe in quite the opposite. I no longer go by what people say sometimes, I go by people's actions.

No. There was a time when we thought this was true, but it was actually the early signs of his mental illness. If the people closer to him had paid more attention to his symptoms, maybe something could have been done, but now it's too late.
