Saved By the Bell had a long and successful run. Many of the cast that literally "grew up" in front of America went on to continue their acting careers with some measure of success. It's interesting that both co-stars, Mario Lopez and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, felt they were so typecast as "Bubblegum Actors" that they had to take a major chance to prove their abilities if they were to fully "retire" Zack and Slater.
And huge chance they did take for the late 1990's...straight actors tackling a gay role. Lopez portrayed Greg Louganis in the movie version of the gold medalist's biography; and Gosselaar took on a very challenging role on Law & Order: SVU as a gay-for-pay porn star.
According to the stories, it should have been Screech (Dustin Diamond) that should have been doing porn.
I've never seen his porno flick but from what I've read (that was fairly well substantiated) apparently Dustin and Burt Ward could have had a rather interesting "size contest" between them. It's always those nerdy co-stars and second bananas that were the hung ones.
But my all-time favorite, "You've got to be kidding me" laugh off still remains Sly Stallone in Italian Stallion. I had a copy of that movie back in the late 80's and 90's when he was riding the box office hunk train and destroyed so many women's fantasies by loaning it out to them.
