Really? I quite enjoyed the book. Certainly a unique premise and plot. Didn't see the film. But in keeping with the thread topic, how was Richard Parker's hair?

i enjoyed parts, don't get me wrong, but found it a real slog to get as far as i did. and i almost always prefer book to film, which is why i've never watched the film before till now agreed about premise/plot.

soggy, a lot of the time, but better than the boy's.

I hadn't read the book and only topically knew about it when the movie came out. Some reviewers said the book was unnecessarily didactic. Don't think I was impressed enough to read the book, but the movie itself was incredibly lovely to watch and since I had no idea of how it wrapped up in the book, it kinda tugged the heartstrings at the end. Glad I saw it on the big screen when I did, it's really vibrant big and loud.

for me, zumi, it was just so damned dry in places.
