I've dealt with the green scum from a hot bath that had uncoated copper in it. It really won't hurt you, but it's not that pleasant to look at. A shower was required after a bath. Having that experience, we're going with acrylic.

Unless one falls into a deal, antique tubs are few and far between up this way, and expensive.

So one that is lined or get it tinned. Check!

I see them often enough and if I can't find one I have a nice network of fellow dealers across the country. I'm sure nearly everything is more expensive up there.

I do polish copper sometimes, but its not so arduous. I also like the patina of wear, but a glint can cheer. . However, Its been suggested that we consider an induction hob for the next cooker. Which means replacing my copper . I dislike my oven which is the only reason I contemplating this change.
