I like to talk.....that about sums it up.

My participation? I like to read threads for the most part and snicker at posts. I generally reserve serious commentary for PM's. Sometimes I say stuff which is going upset the intolerant bunch of trolls that roam the GB just because they can't tolerate an opposing view.

I only post here on the GB and on one main thread in the PG. I used to be a How To person, because they needed my good advice.

Wouldn't everyones participation be essentially the same? Some mods probably put in a little extra here and there but everyone else just posts stuff like any other board.
Usenet guys used to go on and on about who "participates" the most and all that. It's silly because often a guy with just a few posts has added more than some guys with thousands. Anyway, that was then, this is now but it hasn't changed much except we're less afraid of the cops now than we were then.

Nope. Some people post here for fun. Some people post here to antagonize the hell out of others. Some people post here to argue politics. On a sex forum. Because they're pathetic. Some people post here just because they're pathetic. Some people post here because there is a pretty good amount of free speech allowed, so it's the only place they can spew their racist vitriol without getting their asses kicked. Others openly post about their stalking of celebrities.

It's all the same stuff though. Whether it be racist rants, spam, porn or what you had for breakfast everyone is doing the same thing for mostly the same reasons, they want someone to care about what they have to say.
And this isn't a sex forum. It's a forum with sexual overtones in some threads. Real sex forums are dark places not meant for normal man.

Lit has taught me that judging someone based on their posting style as miserable or pathetic is not necessarily accurate, given a chance to look to the other side.

Most of the things you mentioned people doing...they're doing for their own kind of fun, and fun has as many kinks as sex does.

Most of the things you mentioned people doing...they're doing for their own kind of fun, and fun has as many kinks as sex does.

I think judging eyer based on his posting style is quite an okay thing. Or judging Mike Yates for stalking some girl to the point where she can't actively have public stuff on the Internet is also an okay thing. Ya see, some people are just REALLY fucked up. I mean, most of us are at least a little fucked up. But when it becomes an obvious issue, then I'm okay to judge it.

Here's how this works. You typed something, I typed something in response. That's pretty much my estimation. If you have to get your emotional Epi Pen because I exist, that is more your issue than mine. If you'd like to have enough of a relationship (which we don't have) to say "Recidiva, don't quote me on anything" then I'll try to remember that, because the idea of annoying you specifically doesn't really blip anything, I can make that sacrifice.

I didn't say they weren't fucked up. I'm saying they're having fun.

Lit has changed my mind about quite a few things, racism, bigotry, politics, fallacy and perception only a few of them. Looking at the other side is ugly, rare and educational. It is one of the many reasons I come here, because prepackaged, pre-digested thought isn't my thing.

It's an attempt at insight and nuance, but if you want to Gallagher hammer watermelons and you want a splash zone, have at it.
