Never heard of them.

2 things you have to remember:

We have no decent alternative station that I can get.
I am MUCH older than you. It affects what I like.

You're a hoot. You make me laugh.

I also listen to classical at night when going to sleep.

On my most recent running playlist:

Pierce the Veil
Disturbed
Mayday Parade
Reba
Fall Out Boy
Jesse J
Little Big town
Nick Jonas
Christina Aguilera
Meghan Trainor
Ellie Goulding
Kelis
Kelly Clarkson
NKOTBSB
Miley Cyrus
The Veronicas
Selena Gomez

i am pretty funny. anyway, i'll be semi-serious just to be nice and list some random bands that i listen to way too much and, you know what, let's just call those my favorites.

wire
bob dylan
they might be giants
shonen knife
the raincoats
modest mouse (before they were castrated)
john cale
david bowie
the rolling stones
television personalities
april march
the velvet underground
umm, the beatles 'cause why not, right?
neil young with or without crazy horse, but just a bit more with
the kinks

et cetera. i could go on for days.

Hey LTR, I love me some Kelly Clarkson. She has a great voice and her songs are so good. Meghan Trainor is the same, what a great new artist.

Good to see you, sweetie.

Kate Bush (shocker)
Robert Plant in any incarnation
Tori Amos
Dead Can Dance
Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks
Eagles
Free

Well, according to my play count, which was reset just a bit ago, the top 25 songs I've listened to are conveniently divided into five each by (in alphabetical order):
Agnes Obel
Bel Canto
Cat Power
Cocteau Twins
Eivør Pálsdóttir

And I would definitely consider all five to be amongst my absolute favourite musical artists.

But if I look at other artists I've apparently listened to a lot lately it starts to get strangely sort-of-but-not-really to outright Goth, for some reason, and I don't know how I feel about that.

Your list is gorgeous.

All time favorite: The Beatles

Too many others to list but if it rocked in the 60's and 70's I loved it pretty much. I also like some Motown and 50's stuff.

My favorite all time female singer is Karen Carpenter. She was the greatest and no woman has come close since.

Male singer is hard to say.

Ben Folds ( with and without the Five)
Cake
Elvis Costello
Prince
The Stones
Owsley

These just off the top of my head

well, definitely more consistent than modest mouse. those fuckers lost a good chunk of their soul when they signed to a major label. don't know if they're just sell outs or they just got old and too comfortable, but that shit is just blah.

not exactly an unpopular opinion, but there you go.

Primus
Bob Seger
Rage Against The Machine
Nate Dogg/Warren G
Steely Dan
Com Truise
Red Fang
Wu Tang Clan
High on Fire
Gonzalez
Tool
Kyuss
3 6 Mafia
Mastodon
UGK
Yes
Cypress Hill
Motorhead
Alabama Thunderpussy
Orange Goblin
La Chat
Nebula
Project Pat

Built to Spill didn't lose much when they signed but the label had no idea what to do with them other than to say, "Look! We gots us a true indie arteest!"

I'm just glad them and Dino Jr. are still making good music,

KYUSS - One of my all timers. Ever hear SloBurn? Also very good.

The new High On Fire is sick and I never really gave them a listen until recently.
