I whole heartedly agree about the hypocrisy - I might almost have a grudging respect for someone who just admitted that it was all about the bottom line, and fuck care standards.

The fact that they are giving us 90 days is rather remarkable. I will be fine, regardless.

That's such shit. Then know that most nurses will do anything for the patients, and the count on that. They try to put you a guilt trip if you decide they're bullshit warrants a work related reaction.

There are two people I know who are absolutely impossible to end a conversation or to get off the telephone. One of 'em is male and the other female.


I dread it when I run into either one on the street or one of them calls. You simply cannot get them to shut up; they blather on endlessly.


Quite evidently, they are oblivious to general convention and the subtle social cues that inform most people that a conversation is over.


As the minutes tick by, I find myself holding the telephone receiver at arm's length while I grit my teeth and murmur curses. I always find myself looking for openings to end the conversation without being rude.


The result is that I do almost anything I can to avoid them.


One of these days, I'm probably going to lose it. I fervently hope that when that happens, it won't end up on the evening news.
