Five years, running, no great avocado to be had.
Always too hard, or too soft.

*kicks California, for keeping all the good ones*

Now, they have beautiful California cheeses, to go with!

*stomps away. Hungry for something that good.*

Speaking of avocados (there, there, gsgs), I got a great present for Christmas.
It has been on my Amazon wishlist for a few months and someone got it for me unexpectedly. I'm not a kitchen gadget person at all; no extra room, no desire to noodle with a million different tools.

But. This thing. I am in love! Every single bit of it works as it's supposed to.

The OXO avocado slicer

Works brilliantly and isn't a giant drawer-space-sucker.

My hand cut slices were so wiggly. *slicer envy*

(I am guessing that cabin fever has sent me into Animal mode.
The Sveedish Chef does not allow Animal in his kitchen.
But, he does let Animal. wear his hat, when Animal practices
in the enclosed area.)

I made pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn, and Pioneer Woman's onion blue cheese sauce for dinner.

Dat sauce doe! *drools*

Boy, I made a pot of goat chili the other day that was so hot my face almost melted. Larry loved it!

We picked up goat bratwurst at the Farmers Mkt Saturday. We're going to have in on Super Bowl Sunday.

I have a friend who chucked the corporate gig to become a gentleman farmer. He bought 10 acres up the road and raises goats and chickens and lambs. Good eats.

That's awesome. We try to eat as much local food as we can. Grumpy bought a sheep recently and had it processed. Goat is harder to find, but we've found a farm who carries it...their greek sausage was fabulous.

Unfortunately, the elk farmer wasn't at the market...in ready for more steaks.

This guy is my source for Roma tomatoes as well. I canned about two bushels he grew for me last year. I get all my eggs and fresh veggies from him in the summer.

He makes sausage but I haven't had any yet, which is surprising because I eat some form of sausage several times a week.

Mrs t picked up some Blueberry Bacon Bangers from Mat Valley Meats. I thought they might be strange, but they were excellent.
