Jesus I'm not kidding I made SUCH a cunt of myself. I was wearing a long skirt which flew up, everything fell out of my bag, and I went down like a felled tree with such a wallop on their wood floor. Came round with an assistant lighting slapping my face.

Never been in since!

I think we have figured out what caused your neck issue.

And I am sure no one noticed your delicate slide to the floor. No one at all.

What in the name of god's green earth is that?????

I just had some prosciutto/mozzarella/basil roll drizzled with balsamic.

Soup? It's basically blended veg but you can have meat too. Bit like broth?

Fucking America. Backward country...

Harvard University law professor Laurence Tribe, a mentor to President Barack Obama, said the administration’s carbon rule for power plants is “a remarkable example of executive overreach” that raises “serious constitutional questions.”

Tribe, who submitted... comments to the Environmental Protection Agency said the agency should withdraw its plan to cut emissions from power plants because it reverses decades of federal support for coal.

“The Proposed Rule lacks any legal basis and should be withdrawn...”

Ah, so federal support for coal is fine and dandy. Federal unsupport for coal is executive overreach.
1200 fucking posts to go. Anyone fancy starting a counting game in the blurt thread?

The seeing impaired guy who rides the train has a brilliant dog. He is just so intelligent. Although right now I just want to squish his face and give him all the kisses. The dog, not the guy. He's asleep on his master's feet. Ugh. The cuteness. I can hardly bear it.

the stitches in my jaw kind of hurt or where the stitches are does, the swelling along the bone is fine, hmm Tuesday until they come out unless I pop them out like last time. Of course last time they had to redo the surgery a week later. I miss my distraction.
Should I go to hear the archaeology lecture and hit the reception or should I just sleep? or be moody? contemplate dishwashers? try once again to get the humidifer working?

It works! I got it working! I took it all apart, and cleaned the motor and all that crap, put it back together with the fan the wrong way in, took it back apart and tried again! Yeah! Humidity!

Sayonara, DeRobertis Pasticceria and Caffe. :(

After 110 years at 176 First Ave., DeRobertis Pasticceria and Caffe will close its doors for good this afternoon at 3.

The economy, age and health concerns reportedly weighed on their De Robertis family's decision to sell the building.

Meanwhile, leading up to today, there have been a number of tributes to the bakery.

The Daily Beast stops by too.

It is one of those city relics New Yorkers gush about without ever darkening its door — or only go when they learn it’s shutting down. “I’ve passed this place a thousand times but never came in,” says Ranesh, who grew up in Staten Island and has lived in Park Slope for 20 years. “You take it for granted and think it will always be here.”

I nearly had a panic in Atlanta traffic today, but aside from that, it was a good day, work-wise! Learned a few things, and got a lot of praise. And some swag. It was nice. And the view in the conference room was fantastic.

And now I'm on vacation for a week! :)
