Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I already knew that the actor that played Jango is Maori, the character of Jango Fett is not which is why I said he was from a galaxy far, far away. Did you think that I was trying to say that the actor was from another galaxy? Try reading between the lines next time.

no, i got the joke. i just didn't care about it. stick to porn.

My oldest child is making me watch these movies with him. I didn't like them when I saw them as a kid and I like them less now. But I'm a good mommy and don't tell him that. I also know for a fact that Santa is bringing some huge starship toy and a bunch of overpriced Lego for Christmas.

Regarding the Claymore Light Saber.

How about a Light Katana, Light Scimitar, or Light Broadaxe.

Or a Light Whip.

Why's everyone hating on the claymore lightsaber? Shit's badass. Didja hear that energy crackle? Me gusta. :D

This probably even beats the Age Of Ultron trailer. Can't wait to see the other upgraded shit they're not letting us glimpse at.

It almost looks like flames coming out the side. Maybe this dude is a noob at building light sabers and he had to vent the heat out the sides.

I know it's just a teaser, but I would have liked to see some shots of aged Hamill, Ford or Fisher to whet my appetite. I liked the Millennium Falcon being chased by the TIE Fighters. That lightsaber setup doesn't seem too practical; if touching the laser is enough to damage or cut off one's extremities, that wielder might want to keep his fingers away from the crossguard.

I have no idea what the significance of that Stormtrooper waking up in a panic is supposed to signify, except that it has a correlation to the title The Force Awakens. Who is he? Why is his presence supposed to wow me? I thought it was stupid.

Same goes for the rolly-droid thing. At first I thought someone had grafted R2D2's head onto it.

Thank God there was no sign of Price Xizor or anything signifying Kevin J. Anderson's footprints. If they assimilated some of the better EU stuff the movie might not suffer.

It has my attention, at least. I await further previews.

For those bitching about the claymore lightsaber design, here's something that might validate its appearance...Forked Lightsabers are apparently canon:

The crossguard lightsaber, also known as the forked lightsaber, was a type of lightsaber seen very rarely. One Jedi known to use such a weapon was Roblio Darté, whose lightsaber had two blue blades.

The crossguard lightsaber was essentially a regular lightsaber with a second blade emitter protruding near the first one at a 45-degree angle to the axis of the hilt. The blade the second emitter emitted was dagger-sized. Roblio Darté's hilt was also built with a slight curve.

However, there is also talk that this is just stylized saber side venting. We shall see...

and fan art:

Whether or not you were in a theater, we all got our first glimpse of Star Wars: The Force Awakens today. The long-awaited teaser showed off some familiar settings, briefly introduced us to a few new characters, and debuted a cross-shaped lightsaber that has already become both a meme and a source of heated debate. There's just a handful of scenes, and it's been online for less than 12 hours, but that's apparently enough time for the creative hive-mind of the internet to start churning out some stellar fan art.

as a person who formerly gave a shit i can tell you that anything not directly related to the films aint fucking canon. not comics, not novels, not RPgs, not anything that isn't the films, radio plays, novelizations of the ACTUAL films themselves and shit like that counts as canon.

that being said, however, jar jar binks IS canon, so... yeah.

All this butthurt over the cross guard is just displaced anger over the black stormtrooper. You're all a bunch of racists!

Can't wait to see Princess Leia, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker.

Is this the teaser for the teaser or the trailer for the teaser of the teaser?
