They aren't finding a set number, that's a big part of the problem. It isn't airborne and that's a good thing but clearly it's trouble. When you contract it from eating bush meat, how do you prevent that? Not eat? Kill all the fruit bats? I mean, it's so complicated and a problem I'm glad I'm not in charge of solving.
I'm sure there is an average number. If you contract it from eating bush meat (I don't know where it comes from) for starters no more goddamn bush meat. We find some kind of critter that can live there. Alpaca? Iguana? Ostrich? Find out what cooking methods work best on it. You might not be able to get it down to 0% but there is probably a point where you kill/destroy (I know they aren't technically alive) the virus.
To be honest, I believe that we are headed for an apocalyptic event at some point, anyway, so it's just a matter of what, where, when, etc. If it ain't Ebola, it will be something else. I've been expecting some sort of global calamity to strike sooner or later. I've known that it will in my bones all my life. It's been only a matter of time and place.
Now, I know that is on faith, without evidence, in case you jump on me for lack of empirical data supporting my conclusion.![]()
It ain't ebola. I can promise you that. Maybe it will, maybe it won't, I'm betting it won't but if it does no point in crying about it.
