That may be true for some of these freebie website packages, but as a former owner/moderator of several vBulletin websites over the years I can tell you that you can't do that as a general user in vBulletin.

In theory, you could do some sort of SQL injection, but the average knucklehead here doesn't have those sort of skillz.

I know there is a vBulletin mod to display the last two octets of the users IP address, I've urged Laurel in the past to install this mod to cut the use of alts down 90% here. Unfortunately, this is a heavily customized version of vBulletin so off-the-shelf mods don't work.

Like I said about a hundred pages ago, it does not require doing any form of invasive hack.

All one needs is a website with a stats log that records IP addresses.
