Where did you see that? According to the link I have from Aug 21, the medical records have been turned over to the prosecutor's office but they did not respond when asked about them. The mayor also declined to comment.

Not "anonymous doctor."
If you wanted to impeach his source versus the one that you prefer you should have suggested that a t family friend may have a bias, not whether he does or does not have a medical degree.
Suppose for example the article said, "family friend who was in the room when the doctor discussed his medical findings" One doesn't need a medical degree to relate hearsay.
Between the two the one that at least gave the background of the source is preferable to one that is simply un-named, un-characterized.
Neither report is much worth reading.

This would seem to be the important part:
The officer who fatally shot an unarmed Ferguson youth suffered a fracture to his eye bone in a scuffle with Michael Brown, according to a family friend.
The hospital X-rays of the injury have been submitted to the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney, and will be shared with a grand jury now weighing evidence to determine if Officer Darren Wilson should be charged in the shooting.
I don't know how the family friend got the info, but it would have to have been from Wilson. Staff at the hospital would not have disclosed it but they might have verified it if Wilson had told his friend.
I have no doubt the results of an examination were sent to the DA by the hospital and that they would have included the results of an X-ray. Either the prosecutor's office has not received the results yet or they are stonewalling them, and it would be speculation to try to figure out why they would be doing that.

The veracity of the friend is in doubt in my mind. I think it's more likely they DA would say "No comment", rather than, "We've received no medical information".
What would denying receipt gain them that a no comment not provide?

The friend has remained anon. because he doesn't want to be assaulted or have his home torched by the mob, which seems like a reasonable idea. However, I doubt that he made up the injury, because the name is a rather complicated one and he would have more likely said "A skull fracture" or something of that nature. He would have had to read the medical report or been in the company of Darren Wilson when the injury was explained to the injured man.
And it has been established there was an injury; just the extant has not been officially established. I don't know why the other anon. person, the denier, wants to remain unknown.
As for the DA, I don't know if they have received an injury report or not. If they haven't, they are telling the truth. If they have and don't want to give out this personal info on Wilson, that should be enough. However, it would not be. If they said "No comment" the news media would hound them for more info, which is really none of their business, and the DA might want to avoid this.
Eventually, anybody who is interested will know more.
