FAWC 5: Line, Please!

Lemme just go ahead and get my official guesses out of the way:

All authors and stories: Absolutely No Clue.

...except for one of course.

Can I ask what it was that makes people think I wrote it? I do love alcohol, and office sex, but I detest brandy.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised no one's guessed mine right. Probably not even that surprising hardly anyone has guessed what I wrote at all. After all, this is the first time I've entered a FAWC, and I wonder how many people have read enough of my stories to have any idea of my style.

You know, I was just looking over the stories and realized that "Bluetooth" is a story that used the opening sentence, but not the items in it. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, and in fact, it obviously took me a while to really register it, although I did read the story.

Not trying to re-open the previous discussion, necessarily, but just making an observation. And it was an interesting story.

Huh. I thought "Bluetooth" was one of the stories that made the *most* use of the three items.

I didn't pick you for that I expected something well a little darker. *shrugs* I don't think my guesses was right for anyone though so what do I know lol!

Except the word Druthers appeared both here on the thread and in one story, I had to look it up but that may be a cultural thing that I haven't really heard it before.

That one's not right either, but it is an excellent guess. I would absolutely write something like that, but I can't claim that clever little piece of ingenuity. Wish that I could.

Also, I say druthers.

K, so I might (probably) have missed this somewhere in this thread, but eh... how much longer do I have left to read? When does the contest close? Or did that decision pass?

I still got a lot to read and my darts have landed on longer ones. (Desperate times, Of Roses, Oracle).

<squints eyes and frowns to form De Niro face>

"Ya broke tha circle of trust, FAWCer."

(Sorry I had to get that outta my system)

Your comments are excellent on the ones you have read. I have noticed them. Your attention and diligence is much appreciated. Glad to have you on board. I hope you get to read them all. I would hate for someone (like me!) to miss out on your excellent insights.

Short of asking you which story is yours and reading it (I'll not do that) I can only say I hope I get to your story.

That said, you could easily turn your own compliment here on yourself. I tip my hat to you for taking the time to comment on so many stories, and actually provide very good and rich feedback for the authors. There's a couple you've actually made me interested in just from your mentions.

Alas, still I throw darts.

And I hit tha long ones. Gonna be a helluva night. I'm gonna need another beer.

Evening from the lake ;) Who'd'athunk this place had free wi-fi? Ah, the times . . . .

Have fun, SC, with whichever long one you got. I'll at least join you in having a beer. Or two. Or three. What the hell. We don't have to check out of the camp site until 11 a.m.

AMB, I share your bewilderment for why people think you wrote a certain story. I've been pegged at least twice for writing A Mile. Maybe because it's a hooker story, and I have a few of those already. Alas, I didn't write that one.

It's dark, and you do dark very well. Didn't think that one was yours, however. Too wordy for you. I can see why others were confused, however.

I'm starting to think "Escape" for you, if not my original guess of "Mystery Night.".

Hmm . . . .

If I give too many denials, I figure I'll eventually out myself. So maybe I should just stay mum . . . .

I still have time to read, yes? If you decide when to close voting or what have you I'm sure you'd post that, I was just making sure.

Yeah, there's still time. Even when I close the voting, the stories will still be there for a couple days. No reason you can't continue commenting, even after the "big reveal."
