Aussies! Check in here!

Really? In what way?

If you start from the premise that I like Perth, like my job, have my family and friends here, kids are settled etc.... The Gold Coast would have to offer more than just theme parks and tourist attractions to make me want to live there.

Well yes I hear that and are all valid and justified reasons to cum back to Perth.

What would the East Coast have to dangle in front of you to make you bite and relocate? (And I hereby stress that I, in no way, wish for you to leave us)

Congratulations on your emancipation! :rose::kiss:

I hope it's everything you've planned and more. :D

Hey Trisk ,

Thanks, it feels good and I don't regret it. It seems the notification continues to cause shock and concern at work which I'm quite enjoying. Back to work tomorrow after a couple of weeks off.

The next few years will be an adventure and a challenge and I like challenges. Certainly won't be sitting on my bum. Seems my skills are in demand, although full time work is not on the agenda anymore.

My youngest has decided to go into the ADF full-time, and is on his way to fullfilling his career aspirations.
To say I am a proud Mum right now would be understating slightly

Hey WQ,

Well at least he will have job security and at the moment its possibly the best move for a young person. Generations of my family have been in the military in various services.

Damn I don't know what would be worse hot/humid or wet/humid like we have for days on end.

Sounds like they should combine the two states since the weather is similar...then state of origin would be like two siblings fighting.

Evening all,

Hopefully everyone stayed safe this Easter holidays. No Easter eggs for me but did find hot cross sticky date buns. Different. As for the fruitless ones...why?

Seems the media is following every move the young royals are making and the baby is a hit it seems. Wonder what this all means for the republican movement?

Well back to work tomorrow for a short week, not looking forward to that..the work bit I mean.

Warrnambool looked different this time around. Has expanded to what I remember. New housing and new shopping centres. Nice fresh air and the views were nice.

Someone special maybe.

hi fellow Australians hope you have all had a wonderful easter
and survive the two or three day working week
(only a 2 day week for me with my r d o)

Who else went to the Dawn Service?
I try to go every year, and this year will also go to the parade and 9am service with the kidlet (who's going into service soon).

Lest We Forget.

Nope, I was out of it, slept till midday which is not like me, was really tired after a busy but short work week, doing the big clean out at work.

The Victoria Barracks here in Melbourne is opened up for the diggers each ANZAC Day to give them a cup of tea and some morning tea. Not open to the public in general. Long time tradition as far as I can remember.

Saw a really interesting doco on the landings in Gallipoli, certainly set the record straight of who did what.

Used to go the ANZAC parade each year. Walked up that path to the Shrine many times, not sure how the older diggers do it each year as its quite steep at the bottom. New rules for buildings in Melbourne have just been introduced which dictates that no new buildings in the area of the Shrine and ANZAC Avenue is allowed to obscure the view from the city.

Morning all,

Up early, will have to get out of that habit from next week. Went to get some Easter eggs post Easter but they all disappeared.

My last set of public holidays, then its Sunday all week for a couple of years. Didn't know I had so much stuff at work built up over 14yrs. Bags of it at home now to sort through.

Hope the weekend is relaxing for all. Seems the weather is turning colder, time to get out the warmer bed sheets and test out the heaters.

So.... life has changed yet again.
I'll be back in Tassie within a few days..... single, broke and homeless for a while. Have t get my life back on track...... away from all txic people.
