A really well-to-do couple I know were trying for children FOREVER. His plan was always to have like 6 or 7 children and leave the child-rearing to maids and nannies so the couple could continue living their lifestyle. She said they could have as many as he liked provided that they actually raise them themselves like regular people. So they ended up with two - because once he saw all that raising children entailed, he realized two was plenty.
