Today approximately 6 million Americans got health insurance via the ACA

so someone with a CIVIC should pay the same as someone with a Rolls?

someone with a mansion should pay the same home owners insurance as someone with a 2 bedroom?

it is equally absurd for a 64 yr old man to have CONTRACEPTION insurance...

ONLY LIBZ think so fucked up

And women who don't think that women should get free contraceptives are part of the war on women?

If women want to have sex, they should pay for their own birth control. There are other birth control choices other than the pill, such as, they could just buy condoms themselves.

Do you protest planned parenthood offices? Ever had an abortion?

Yeah but that's short sighted and costs us a lot more money than solving the problem on the front end.

Thought so.

After I was married, my husband and I paid for our own birth control. We didn't need insurance to cover it. Our choice to have sex, our choice to prevent pregnancy until we were ready to have a baby.

It is called responsibility.

You waited until marriage then used birth control? Yeah, OK.

You are aware that women use birth control for reasons other than sex, yes? You know, being responsible for their health so they can be a productive member of society instead of a drain?

So those who need this for reasons other than sex are unable to pay for it themselves?

In her defense she does sound like the kind of person who's social life was sufficiently stunted not to need birth control until she got married. I'd commend her for her strength if I thought it was strength of character and not just being so bat shit crazy that no man wanted to be around her.

Being fair the number who use birth control for other reasons is fairly low.

Well, as you know nothing about my life other than what I choose to share here, your opinion of my social life is of no importance.

I will say this, there are those of us who do have strength of character and do not feel the need to sleep with every guy that comes along. Some of us actually do wait until we are married to have sex.

So those who need this for reasons other than sex are unable to pay for it themselves?

And so what if they can't pay for it themselves and need the boost from insurance?

Do you get on this high horse over men who get Viagra through health insurance? There's no alternate use for that.

Being fair the number who use birth control for other reasons is fairly low.

Low-er than those who require contraception, but it doesn't diminish or mitigate the alternate need and/or use.

Does that make you better than those who have sex outside of marriage? When did resisting, denying or suppressing sex give you strength of character?

Never said it made anyone better. It is a choice to have sex or not.

If one chooses to have sex outside of marriage...their choice. For those who choose to wait until marriage, also their choice.

Viagra is is no way comparable to birth control. If people want to have sex, they can pay for it themselves.

It's low enough that I don't think it's a particularly good argument. It's the same way I feel about talking about rape, incest and late term abortions. All of these things happen pretty rarely and shouldn't be part of the main conversation.

I'm all for birth control, I think we're a better society for it. I don't think the small percentage of females who's cramps are truly unbearable (as a non-woman I can't attest to how bad they can or can't get. Part of me wants to say do the same thing you do for migraines, drug up and suffer through the weekend the rest of me thinks we've got a just fine solution and there is no reason to fuck with anything.) Actually most of me thinks there is no reason to fuck with anything. We've got this.

And it's a generally accepted "fact" in the world that resisting, denying and suppressing urges (sex included) makes you a stronger person. I think there is ample evidence that it simply makes you broken however.

Viagra is if anything WORSE than birth control. If paying to a young woman doesn't get pregnant thus preventing either an abortion or an unwanted child (or if you prefer since some people believe there are no unwanted children despite millions of abortions and tens of thousands given up to adoption and thousands more abused but whatever) a child the parents are unprepared to financially support is paying for sex, then paying for a man who is unable to naturally engage in sex anymore to perform is dozens of times worse.

If the man is married...it is important.

On a separate note, if the couple is not financially able to support a child, then they should still purchase their own birth control, even in just condoms, to prevent a pregnancy.

If the girl is not married, she is not required to have sex. If she chooses to do that, then she needs to choose to take care of the birth control herself.

If it is required by me to help pay for her birth control, then I should be able to have a say-so in whether she has sex or not. (I know that cannot happen, just an example as to how it makes no sense for everyone else to have to pay for this girl to have sex).

Abstinence is 100%. If she can't afford the pill, then perhaps condoms will suffice.

What the fuck?
So if girl is married she's required to have sex?
What kind of religion you're member of?

See, we can say that looking from the outside, but when it happens to you, it just rearranged your entire life. Realities don't give you room to be glib. It's best that we acknowledge these realities of human existence and accommodate our abilities to help people function properly.

And it's a generally accepted "fact" in the world that resisting, denying and suppressing urges (sex included) makes you a stronger person. I think there is ample evidence that it simply makes you broken however.

Eeehhh. If it's an addiction that debilitates your life in other areas and you overcome it, that's strengthening your character. Otherwise, you're just conditioning yourself to ignore a perfectly human aspect through lies, shame, fear and/or religious indoctrination. There's a lot of problems in our society due to our general fucked-up view of sex and sexuality. The fact that someone like July keeps coming back to an erotica/porn community to talk when it runs anathema to everything she supposedly stands for is but a small taste of that fact.

so he didn't say what he said, what he said he didn't mean to say, so he said it but he meant to say something else, so why did he say what he said and what did he mean t say when he said what he said?

Please tell us, RoberToe!

Oh, I think you mean to CON the TEXT, you mean to QUEER its meaning

TELL US

I axed you a question, ROBBER TOE

No, expressing your view is not the issue. Its when you insist on making personal and unfounded attacks on others or statements to demean or shock that makes you a demagog.

I have never complained when you or anyone else don't accept my opinion on the subject of Omamacare. Just another example of how you say things that are not true in an attempt to deflect attention from the real issues.

You don't complain, you simply insist on framing the debate to stack the deck in your favor.

You do this repeatedly. To give you an example, nobody thinks Obamacare is perfect in its perfect form. However, you insist on framing the debate as (paraphrasing here) "Now that we can all agree that Obamacare is an absolute failure, let's discuss how to fix or replace this....".

No.

I do not agree with your premise.

And that seems to grate on you.

I know it grates on me, it's very tiresome to have to continually issue corrections when you do this. You're a puppy that insists on pissing on the carpet.

Until you learn to frame the debate in neutral terms, I'm afraid all you can expect from me is ridicule and personal attacks. It seems to be the only way to get your attention.

You want to debate? I'm game.

You want to dish slop and play the victim? I'll help ya through that too.

It's your call.
