Only time I had duck in my house was two summers ago when I rescued a baby duck after something attacked the nest in moms garden. There was no beheading, only tiny ducky cuddles.

Ducky went to live at a local wildlife farm with a couple dozen other ducks and a bunch of other animals.Hahaha!

Never did the ol' sex check? My mom had some ducks back when I was in high school, maybe a bit older. Once she gave a newborn duckling to a family friend's 5 year old daughter. They brought the duckling back after a week. Apparently you can't potty train a duck

I have no idea how to check the sex on a baby duck, and I don't really care to learn.
I did learn that while you can't potty train a duck, you can diaper it. I actually considered it so I could keep the duck.

My mom had chickens... kind of a hobby/way to get fresh eggs. One day she brought home ducks from the sale barn along with chickens. The ducklings roamed the yard with their mom.

I did not actually diaper a duck. I just thought about it after learning about it online. Hubby's dad has chickens and ducks too. And dogs, cats, goats, and I forget what else.
