Not sure where you visited, but it's the norm here.

To be fair, the folks in NY are great too. Always enjoy my trips up that way and have one again later this month in fact.

Georgetown-Round Rock-Austin-San Marcos-San Antonio

A bunch of wannbe cowboys and obnoxious "ranch hands" - with the $600 CLEAN boots - just off the ranch, trying to pick up my niece and her friends, my wife and sister-in-law, and when turned down, become idiots.

Most men, when turned down, become idiots.

Good thing you're not bitter about it...

That's true.

My bone of contention with Texas men: When you're indoors, why is your hat still on?

So much for the free exchange of ideas and opinions... When your mind is already so hardened.

We certainly wouldn't want to paint with a broad brush...

I saw TOO many of them, of all ages, not remove their hats when they walked into homes, restaurants, malls, etc. Seriously, why is your cover still on?

I'm not sure if I should back out of the room slowly or wait to witness the pissing contest and hope for a glimpse of something kinky ;)

I was thinking the same thing hehe.

I think everywhere has idiots and gentlemen.....it's just knowing where they are. My husband is neither :rolleyes:

hehe glad I wasn't alone in those thoughts.

Yes totally. Um should I ask what he is then?

He's inbetween. A very sweet man, sometimes holds doors etc...if I'm not well:rolleyes:. Anyone broke into our house and he'd probably protect them from me hehe.

No pissing contest. I tried to reach out to him, but he didn't want any part of it. Whatever, it's over.

My experience exactly squire, with other small minded guys here as well and it wasn't only me they screwed with, I'm happy to be a stranger here.

Oh I did not read your post. :(

Lit is like walking a field with land mines.

Never know when your step will cause an explosion.

Don't let them get to you because then they win.

:rose:

Don't know if it's a Texas thing or just how I was raised...

But I grew up respecting and protecting women. That's what I was taught and believe.

I still open doors for women, say yes ma'am and thank you, help them carry anything heavy and make sure they are comfortable and feel safe and secure. Seems to be the least we can do the lovely women that give us children and make us feel loved at home...

It's not a Texas thing or an anywhere thing. I think it's likely a generational thing. Idiots and assholes are universal. ;) I grew up in southern AZ and it was hit or miss on how guys would act to their female "significant others". I was taught by my stepfather to respect and protect women too. Do everything that you mentioned above and I did that to the best of my ability during the 20+ years of my marriage. The respect wasn't always returned, especially over the past several years, but that's another story. I was also taught that a gentleman never hits a lady and I can unequivocally say that I never have. Of course I was also taught that a lady will never hit a gentleman and that once she does, she's no longer a lady and all bets are off. However, over the years, I have learned that there are exceptions to that rule when it's mutually agreed upon...
