Nothing but jazz...

As John Coltrane helps soothe my hangover ......

As a longtime member, but only a recent contributer, here, I was glad to have found this thread, this morning. I've wondered if, and hoped that, there was a thread dedicated to jazz, but in my random meanderings on Lit., I never found one, until this morning.

Currently, I'm doing my best to deal with the savage beast that is a class "A" hangover, the price to be paid for staying out very late, last night, having one (two? Three?) cocktails more than I "should've". In spite of all this pain, it was worth it. Later, I'll revisit this thread, read what's been posted, check out some music and musicians I might not be very familiar with, and see if there's anything I can add. As I may've alluded to up above, I always know I can depend on John Coltrane to straighten out my head. Lots more caffine and a couple more Ibuprofen should help, too.

I do hope that all the jazz afficionados out there have a terrific Labor Day.

Ah John Coltrane. One of my favourite records of all time is his collaboration with Duke Ellington

It's Saturday night, so .....

I've been listening to Jack Hopke's "Saturday Night Jazz Show", on WWNO, which streams, if you're ever interested.

When it ends, at midnight (CST), I plan on listening to a CD I bought earlier today. The Ted Nash Big Band, entitled, "Chakra". I do like big bands, and Ted Nash, I'm not too familiar with.
