The house was built in 1890, and has undergone a few renovations. One in the 1930s where they converted the porch to an indoor bathroom, another one in the 1970s, and one in the 1980s. We have been working it since we bought it about 10 years ago.

What the HELL were we thinking??????

Ok, that missing wall is actually where we just tore out the "windows" that were compromised by poor installation and have effectively rotted out the floor and support beam. We removed the "windows" and discovered that they were actually re-purposed SLIDING GLASS DOORS, and several corners were cut in their installation. We actually like having a Carolina/Florida/Sunroom, so we are simply going to repair the floor and replace the windows with actual windows that can open and shut for air flow.

It's actually very funny, because when we measured the windows for replacements,we thought "Gee, 48x79"... strange window measurements", and then , "Damn, huge windows."
Luckily, we have a few friends in construction/general contracting who pointed us to a place where we were able to get the replacements for only ~$210/each, which is PRETTY CHEAP for that size window. I'm looking forward to a day when I can actually have people visit my house...*sigh*
