You look so peaceful over in the puppy pile. I'm trying not to get jealous as I stifle a yawn & head out for the rest of the day.

Can I interest you in a tractor ride, Miss?

I'm going to go pick up some of those big round bales with the fork and take them to the barn. We've got more horses than I expected to have and we need to lay in more hay.

Thanks, Dave. I'll help with hay if you drop me at the nearest crossroads. I've been craving a strawberry surfrider & saw some wild strawberries somewhere out there.

Startled awake I look about bleary eyed wondering what the hell woke me. I stand at a nearby window. My eyes adjusting to the light as I scan the area. No immediate danger but I sense...something.

I head to the shower, giggling at our antics the night before. Drying off on the way back to my room, I collect and pack a few things as I get dressed. Doing a final check, ZU's back, boots, thigh, patting each area, feeling the shape of each dagger, yep, check! A thousand rounds hmm, that's a bit of weight to run with but fuck...get used to the weight gurl otherwise your dead. Reload the .303. Good to go. One last deep breath I stare back out the window. All is quiet but something calls. Steadying my resolve I decide to check on the children RA came across first. If something is afoot there, I'll high tail it back to grab the others. Otherwise I'll send back messages via any refugees on the path.

Nodding to myself I head silently for the doorway out into the light. Across the causeway and the minty freshness of the moat makes me to smile at the difference of the aroma compared to my arrival. I start to think of home. Mackellar comes to mind as I think of that sunburnt country. Dwelling on the place of my birth I think of Ranganui and Tane-Mahuta and all the old legends I learned from my childhood. As I think of the universe it occurs to me finally what to name the foal. Marama. The embodiment of the universe. Yes indeed.

With a lightness within my heart, I break into a steady jog. Seek and you shall find echoes in the mind.

I'll happily help you with your strawberry picking by keeping an overwatch on you as you pick. I am covered with the debris falling off the bales and that stuff makes me so itchy. So I could use the break...and I don't mind watching you either.

Stay within a hundred yards. Let's not test my skills with the rifle today.

This is brilliant. I love it.

When you get back, I hope you tell us of all your adventures on the road.

mmmmm.....did i sleep all day? It was so nice to not worry about every noise in the night. Looks around. What's shaking?

I think after my shower I'll stay in my dorm and play with my toys until later. ;)

What's shaking is that you missed dinner, but I bet Vava will share a vegemite sandwich with you.

And the bar is open. Is there a drink you'd like?

Dude, I'm an environmentally aware slut... mine plugs into the wall...lol

Ooops, I mean I got a new night light and I've felt so shitty I haven't even wanted to plug it in...
