SirW in hospital, good vibes, please?

SirW, we haven't spoken, and you probably don't know me. I've read a lot of your posts here on Lit, though, and I appreciate your style and wisdom (and your own special brand of smartassery!). I'm glad you're improving and will continue to send healing thoughts - although I can't spare my favorite vibe!

Speaking of smartassery...

Nope, this sucker is gonna live longer than the "Will you vote for Hillary" political thread from four years ago. :D

(Not all sadists restrict themselves to using whips and chains)

but...but...but you will still use the whips and chains right? right? *big puppy eyes*

well of course not. That's what I'm here for. :cathappy:

I need the endorphins right now.

I see. Not sure if I can rig up a whips and chains antenna to work like the good vibes one that Sir W uses. Maybe he'll share the schematic for his antenna so I can look into the needed modifications.

Good Vibes

To a fellow BBT'r. I heart felt Beezigga headed your way. Glad your home.

I don't think you can die of self consciousness. I don't know for certain, but I've never heard of such a thing.

I'm delighted to hear you're home. Hope you continue to feel better. Thrilled to pieces to see your posts.

But... Sir? I don't know about that Haiku you left. Left me shaking my head and nearly rolling my eyes.

Hugs and kisses. Behave as best you're able and follow doctors orders. Please?

Thank you.

But really! Have you ever been in the hospital, having*finally* gotten to sleep more or less peacefully, and had a nurse come in and wake you to take "vital signs," or - worse! - give you a pill to help you sleep? :: insert hair-pulling emoticon here ::

I am, though, doing my best to behave and follow orders.

Thank you.

Pics or it didn't happen. :D

When I was admitted last november, they annoyed the crap out of me with the silly things. Like they wanted to give me a shot to keep from having blood clots, even though I was perfectly able to get up and walk, because they didn't want me walking, not because I wasn't able, but because they didn't want to have to do it with me.

And they expected me to be in a lot more pain than I was in, so the doc perscribed morphine. I didn't want it because I really wasn't in much pain, but I had a headache. The nurse said she couldn't give me an advil or anything because the doctor hadn't perscribed it. So it was morphine or deal with the headache. I took the morphine.

Thank you.

Yes, I understand. A hospital is the last place to get a good nights sleep. Hope you're resting, healing, and feel so much better.

Doing my best to rest and heal, and I am feeling better, though there are some minor annoying hanging-on things.

I get to drive 30+ miles (one way) tomorrow for a carotid doppler ultrasound and echocardiogram to (I hope) determine that the chances for a repeat performance are minimal. Oh, well, at least I can stop by the casino for a little bit on the way back ;)

Luck be a hot nurse tonight.

I can't sleep at hospitals because I can't sleep with my door shut, and it's too loud to sleep with it open. Suffice it to say that even with sleeping meds, two forms of narcotics, and exhaustion, I only sleep a couple of hours at a time. The nurses leave me alone when I do sleep, because they've spent the last four hours trying to get me to GO to sleep. And they know I'll be up in about an hour.

Pshaw! The cardiologist and technician(s) who were to perform the carotid doppler and echocardiogram on me this afternoon fly up from Lincoln to the little town where it was to be done. Unfortunately, they *can't* fly today because of bad weather between Lincoln and today, so this stuff will have to be re-scheduled for some time next week. Annoying.

The joys of living in Mayberry North, eh?

Yep - but on the other hand, a traffic jam here is having a semi at the front of each of the two lanes (in your direction) when the light turns green, and two cars behind each of them.

Uh huh. How's the Thai food in your neighborhood? ;)

Here it's either that, or a bunch of cars stuck behind a tractor with no way to get around him.

Personally, I think the tractor is worse. At least the semi can get up past 15mph after a few minutes.
