Working in my garden today I made a discovery that I later confirmed: Fire ant venom is a natural anti-biotic. I got bit-up by fireants today, and later I noticed that a mild infection on my hand was gone. The redness, the swelling, the pain...gone.
So I looked online to see if theres any research on fireant venom, anti-biotic properties, and there is. Fireants use their venom to wash their eggs and kill bacteria that prey on the eggs.
