Natural Anti-biotic

Working in my garden today I made a discovery that I later confirmed: Fire ant venom is a natural anti-biotic. I got bit-up by fireants today, and later I noticed that a mild infection on my hand was gone. The redness, the swelling, the pain...gone.

So I looked online to see if theres any research on fireant venom, anti-biotic properties, and there is. Fireants use their venom to wash their eggs and kill bacteria that prey on the eggs.

While some folks use honey on cuts etc, it contains a chemical that enhances pain.

Yeah, most likely anti-inflammatory, might be antibiotic topically when not injected.

But I'm allergic, so any benefit is counteracted by me looking like I have erythematous small pox.

Washed my face with only honey for a while, I have really sensitive skin that will break out and react to most chemicals. Switched to sugar eventually, easier and also exfoliant.

Fuck that. I have to go out in full body armor just to weed and we have to poison the hell out of the lawn every three months.

We have just enough winter...

Although, I might have a possum on the half-shell under my front porch.

I wouldnt of volunteered for the experiment or paid tuition. That said, it does work.

I think some people say that bee stings work on arthritis and other inflammatory processes.

I'm not sure I'm clear on whether ant venom applied topically to eggs provide antibiotic properties or noxious properties. It'd be interesting to see, but I'm not putting that stuff on my skin or injecting it to find out.

It might be that the newest insult to the system gets the most attention and draws away from other inflammatory processes. That's how it would help with auto-immune. It's better to address a bee sting or an ant bite than eat at your own bones.

I dont know the whys, all I know is my minor infection went bye bye after the antses cleaned my clock yesterday. I then got curious about the apparent cure, and 2-3 science articles reported that ant venom has anti-bacterial properties, and ants use their venom to bathe their eggs.

No wonder they're such mean little sob's...

Okay. But substances react differently topically rather than injection into a circulating system.

Gasoline might also make a good antibiotic in a way that it could kill bacteria when spread over a surface, but don't inject it!

That's the distinction I'm making. Topical vs. injection and inflammatory vs. antibiotic.

Cool idea though.

I agree. Multivitamins paralyze me. My body doesnt like them. KNOW THYSELF.

I'm thinking I oughta sell my fireant cure on tv. For $19.95 you get a large plastic bag to get in, restraints to hold you down, and about 10,000 pissed off ants to spend some quality time with you in your bag. Plus shipping & handling.

Didn't Dale Gribble do that?
