I doubt there is any significant amount of garbage collected by the private sector. Oh, road building and upkeep. Hell if we were smart instead of doing what we do and looking for the cheapest way to build our roads and stuff we'd look for the BEST way to build our roads n stuff.
Time for us to actually invest in our schools, and they do have professionals already. Nice edit there.
General landscaping, land preservation.

In the private sector at at Kissinger and Associates.
So your conspiracy theory is that all these Republican Fed chiefs are creating secret squirrel artificial inflation because they're socialists?
Idiot.

A. Barton HinkleThere are two powerful reasons for giving government aid to the poor, one good and one bad. It alleviates human suffering, which is good. And it increases dependence on government, which is bad.
Or at least it is bad if you believe in virtues such as personal responsibility and self-reliance. On the other hand, if you are (let us say) a Democratic congressman or a bureaucrat in the Department of Health and Human Services, then swelling the rolls of those who need your help could be a very good thing indeed. At least for you.
...
The Department of Agriculture also has been doing its part for the welfare state: It has been producing Spanish-language radio novelas dramatizing the desirability of signing up for food stamps, or whatWashington calls the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). “Will Claudia convince Ramon to apply for SNAP? Don’t miss our next episode of Hope Park!” concluded a typical spot. (Once word of the campaign spread, the department deep-sixed it.)
A similar USDA program has been trying to combat ostensibly nefarious value systems – such as pride, personal responsibility and self-reliance. The Daily Caller reports that last year the department handed out Hunger Champion awards to North Carolina officials who developed strategies for “counteracting what they described as ‘mountain pride’ [by appealing] to those who wished not to rely on others.” A USDA fact sheet stressed the importance of countering “myths about SNAP among those who . . . have beliefs that discourage them from enrolling.”
In short, the USDA is not merely making sure that people who want food stamps know how to access them. It is trying to sign up people who don’t want them in the first place.
But there's no inflation...

The real hit in meat prices won't come until later in the year. Chicken will go up within 3 months while pork and beef prices will not rise for 6 to 9 months.
But no worries (yet) here in the East, our corn looks as if to be headed for a record harvest.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...r-Person-To-Help-Youth-Find-Minimum-Wage-JobsKey findings included:
Wasteful administrative costs are eating up job training dollars. In one program, just 14 cents of every dollar went to actual job training.
Questionable spending abounds. For example, the Job Corps program spent $36,000 on flowers and billboards. Other expenditures included bowling trips and recreational activities that had little to do with job training.
Some job training programs appear to segregate participants by race, gender, and background. For example, Oklahoma's 40 job training programs have eight that target Native Americans and seven for veterans--"some of which require veterans to pursue training for 'green skills,' not because of labor market analysis but because politicians in Washington are imposing ideological agendas on states."
As one Oklahoma constituent who went through the jobs program explained:
A record 87,897,000 Americans are no longer in the labor force.I attended three different federally funded job assistance programs. All three were absolutely unhelpful and contributed to my panic that I may never find a good job again. One Workforce worker advised me to ‘dumb down’ my resume and even made revisions to my Workforce posted resume that included the removal of my educational and professional accomplishments. A job counselor at a different agency advised me that a ‘good job’ was one that paid $10/hour.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/07/25/Fed-Considers-Bailing-Out-ObamaJust how subservient to Barack Obama is the Fed? We’ll soon find out. The Fed is considering pumping more money into the economy and inflating the currency by the end of September, just in time to artificially stimulate growth and help Obama’s reelection prospects. Just two weeks ago, Senator Chuck Schumer told the Fed it should act before the 2012 election.
Republicans are urging the Fed to be more cautious, but Democrats, frightened at their reelection chances, are pushing the Fed to save them and worry about the future later. After the Fed had their June policy meeting, Fed officials started to publicly muse about pouring more money into the economy. And with meetings coming up on July 31 and August 1, it’s possible the Fed may act soon.
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress last week that the Fed was considering several ideas: buying mortgage-backed or Treasury securities, keeping short-term interest rates near zero beyond 2014, or dropping benchmark short-term interest rates even lower than they are now.
Other ideas include using a facility the Fed calls its discount window to give cheap credit directly to banks that make new business or consumer loans. But the banks can get cheap credit already.
The Fed is worried about new figures that show how drastically the economy is failing: it grew at a rate well below 2% in the second quarter after its growth was only 1.9% in the first quarter. The unemployment rate has been stuck around 8.2% since January. Retail sales are down, and Europe, which is a mess financially, isn’t buying American.
Government jobs...
It costs $76,000 to place a ute into a minimum wage job..
