Your lucky! I live in the upper midwest, I shouldn't have to deal with this shit!

BTW, your avatar and quote make me happy. Have babies, so that space enthusiasts populate the world.

Here, have some of my eggs. *gives eggs.*

Wow, eggs! *juggles them*

Seriously though, when I do eventually have kids I don't know what I'm going to do if they're not into science.

In fact, I was just sitting here pondering when I might be able to make a trip to the Lowell Observatory (the observatory Clyde Tombaugh was in when he discovered Pluto) before I go home. Since I realized I'm only three hours away, I've been kind of obsessed with it.

Oh, and Im watching TV at the moment. And simultaneously feeling awesome for pwning my earth science test.

I think I want to be a planetary scientist. That would be epic.

This is my second time doing that.
I sorta accidentally knocked it's predecessor into the shower somehow.

How to save a wet cellphone

Bury it completely in rice for at least 24 hrs, pull out the battery if you can. And pray to the technology gods that your phone will live.

Hair dryer, if used too high a setting might damage the more sensitive circuits inside. Though considering how hot my phone gets when I use it extensively I think the phone can handle a lil heat

Awesome! ^_^ Yeah, I know its a little unique to be fascinated by such things, but I love it, and can't understand why others don't. Lately I've been geeking out about Martian volcanism, and telling everyone about it.

No one cares. -_-

PHONE RAINEX?! Sweet!!!!

I'll try that, VT... Here's hoping.
I believe I'm up for an upgrade in the next few weeks, but I'm just afraid that bringing in YET another phone that's got the Red Dot of Doom is going to to be frowned upon.

You mean no one important cares. Because that's clearly both awesome and fascinating stuff.

I just picked up Neil deGrasse Tyson's Space Chronicles at the bookstore the other day, too. It's very exciting. :D

I dropped my phone in the toilet once. But it was once of those ancient indestructible ones, so there were no consequences other than having to get it out.

Thankfully, I had not peed yet. :X

What's the red dot of doom?

I love Carl Sagan. I wish I could hug him.

I have seen it! And a bunch of other NDT material too. He is our generations answer to Sagan thus far.

But he can't do it alone. *heroic pose!*

FOR SCIEEEEEENCE!!!!!!

Science could be a house in game of thrones. The banner would be a hydrogen atom.

...That was random, but ive been reading it lately, so Im a bit preoccupied.

He's also got Brian Cox to help him out. :D

I got to see him speak a few months back. It was as great as you'd expect. A little kid got up at the end, to ask a final question and, almost like he was a planet in the audience, asked what happens when you fall into a black hole. It was a really great a fun moment, and the perfect way for him to close everything out.

I have to assume you also listen to Star Talk Radio?

I mostly listen to NPR. Whats that? O_O

http://www.startalkradio.net/

It's a radio show (and, thankfully, a podcast) that NdGT does, usually with guests and such. He's had people like Morgan Freeman and Alan Alda on, they've done live shows with comedians like Paul F Tompkins and a couple people from The Daily Show (along with shows that had Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, individually, as guests), and he also has experts on to talk about the various things they talk about. It's good times for your ears.
